  • Publication number: 20110161850
Abstract: A graphical approach to setup data sharing between two controllers. Symbols that represent controllers may be placed on a wiresheet. A link may be constructed between the controllers by connecting the symbols with a line drawn between them. The resulting link information may lead to a compile and download of binding tables to the pertinent controller. The designer or user need not setup several levels of mapping by populating multiple tables to effect the binding for a link between the controllers. This binding may be done automatically under a hood without the designer or user needing to be aware of the binding activity. This approach for graphically constructing a link may be particularly applicable to BACnet controllers.

  • Publication number: 20110160879
Abstract: An approach to automatically encode application enumeration values to enable reuse of applications across controller of different protocols. Protocols may use different sets of enumerations to denote various application values and states. The present approach may permit defining a common set of enumerations which can be encoded automatically by a tool that enables reuse. Application designers may define enumerations to be used by the control application and the tool will automatically encode them into communication protocol specific enumeration values.

  • Patent number: 7970566
Abstract: Two or more sets of measurement data can be independently collected from causally related characteristics or elements. Such measurements can be synchronized with one another through the identification of a correct offset between their measurement data. An identification of the nature of the causal relationship between the measured characteristics can identify relevant ranges within which the aggregate values of one of the measurements can be obtained. As the offset between the measurements is adjusted, the aggregate values can change and a derivative, or other meaningful function based on the aggregate values can be calculated. The meaningful function, or subsequent functional result of it, can inform a range of offsets within which a local extreme value can be identified. The offset corresponding to such a local extreme value can be the correct offset.

  • Patent number: 7970362
Abstract: A transmitter has a power amplifier (40) to amplify an input signal having amplitude modulation, a supply voltage controller (10) to control a supply voltage of the power amplifier (40) according to the envelope, a sensor (R1) for sensing a modulation of a current drawn by the power amplifier (40), a delay detector (20) for detecting a delay of the controlled supply voltage relative to the sensed current, and a delay adjuster (30) for compensating the relative delay according to the detected delay. By sensing a current drawn, the delay detected can include any delay contributed by the power amplifier (40) up to that point, and yet avoid the more complex circuitry needed to derive the delay from an output of the power amplifier. Thus the distortion and out of band emissions caused by differential delays can be reduced more effectively.

  • Patent number: 7967289
Abstract: A drive roll/idler roll nip release mechanism utilizes the motor used for the drive nip, coupled with one-way clutches, to power the nip release as a sheet is handed off to a downstream nip. A drive shaft is coupled to a first one-way clutch in one direction and an idler cam shaft is coupled to a second one-way clutch in the opposite direction. This allows the idler cam shaft to be driven only when the motor is reversed, and the drive shaft to be driven only when the motor is moving forward. The one-way clutch on the drive shaft allows the drive wheels to freewheel when the motor is reversed in order to engage the nip release. Thus, the nip release is activated while the drive nip continues to rotate in the direction of sheet motion.

  • Patent number: 7969689
Abstract: An apparatus for attaching one or more HGAs to an actuator assembly including one or more actuator arms comprises a set of pivoting supports corresponding to the one or more HGAs and mechanisms that pivot each of the pivoting supports between open positions and closed positions. For each of the set of pivoting supports, in the open position, a gap adjacent to the pivoting support is sufficiently large to receive both a mounting platform of one of the actuator arms and a baseplate of one of the HGAs positioned in alignment with the mounting platform of the one of the actuator arms, and, for each of the set of pivoting supports, in the closed position, the gap is sufficiently small to constrain the baseplate of the one of the HGAs against the mounting platform of the one of the actuator arms.

  • Patent number: 7970688
Abstract: A method for pricing a trade comprising providing a user input for entering trade data, providing a structure for receiving the trade data and then transmitting the structure to a pricing system. The structure, now populated with both the trade data and the pricing data, is received from the pricing system and the trade data and pricing information is displayed. Advantageously, the structure is encrypted prior to transmitting it to the pricing system and decrypted when received from the pricing system. The pricing system records the data and the pricing information, which may be automatically entered into a trading system if and when the user agrees.

  • Publication number: 20110146912
Abstract: A multi-layer laminate media is provided on which information may be applied in machine or human readable form on a visible front surface by the output of one or more lasers, or other high intensity light source. In a preferred embodiment, the media has three layers including preferably transparent substrate, a thermochromic layer and a light absorbent layer located intermediate the media substrate and the thermochromic layer. The light absorbent layer is adapted to absorb light from the light source and convert the absorbed light into heat. The heat is immediately conducted into selected portions of the thermochromic layer which is in thermal contact with the light absorbent layer, causing portions of the thermochromic layer to change visual appearance such as color to create the desired mark. The media optimally includes obscuration materials to reduce the visibility of the light absorbent layer to the naked eye.

  • Publication number: 20110146203
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method and apparatus for dispensing a predetermined fixed amount of pre-stretched packaging material based upon load girth. A non-rotating ring carries a belt driven by a motor. A packaging material dispenser is mounted on a rotating ring, and the rotating ring may include a pulley that connects to the band, such that the rotating ring is driven by the drive belt. Based upon the girth of the load to be wrapped, an amount of pre-stretched packaging material to be dispensed for at least a portion of a revolution made by the rotating ring is determined. Good wrapping performance in terms of load containment (wrap force) and optimum packaging material use is obtained by dispensing a length of pre-stretched packaging material that is between approximately 90% and approximately 120% of load girth. Once the amount of packaging material to be dispensed per revolution is determined, a ratio of rotating ring drive to final pre-stretch surface speed (i.e.
