  • Patent number: 10306824
Abstract: A system for dispensing seeds and a treatment. The system includes a first tube for dispensing the seeds via a first outlet, a second tube for dispensing the treatment via a second outlet, and a first valve at an upper portion and a second valve at a lower portion of the second tube. The second outlet is located between the discs of a furrow-opening wheel. The first valve is positioned outside of the furrow during operation and controls movement of the treatment from a container into the second tube. The second valve controls release of the treatment from the second outlet into the furrow. The second valve may open and close in response to pressure exerted by the treatment in the second tube. Depending on the treatment, the valves may release the treatment on, adjacent to, or both behind and in front of the dispensed seeds.

  • Patent number: 10309535
Abstract: A piston ring assembly for sealing a cylinder wall to a piston body is provided. The piston ring assembly includes a plurality of rings stacked in an axial direction one in abutment with another. Each ring has an inner face and an outer face. The piston ring assembly also includes a spring which substantially circumferentially surrounds the stacked rings and abuts the outer faces of the rings. The spring biases the stacked rings in a radially inward direction for sealing the inner faces of the rings against the piston body. The spring may be of a strip of material bent into a serpentine pattern when in an at rest condition to apply the biasing force against the piston body.

  • Patent number: 10312587
Abstract: An antenna array can be quickly and efficiently designed to meet specified performance criteria. A system can be configured to receive various performance criteria as inputs, and from these inputs, identify how elements of an antenna array should be arranged so that the antenna array will meet the performance criteria. An iterative process can be performed to identify at least one arrangement of elements that will best meet the performance criteria while also complying with specified structural constraints.

  • Patent number: 10311747
Abstract: The system collects location tracking data about each user and analyzes the location tracking data to determine the level of expertise a user has for a specific venue/event or a specific geographic region at a particular scale on a map. The system receives questions about a specific venue/event or about a category of venue/event in a specific geographic region at a particular scale on a map and routes those questions in real time to one or more experts for the specific venue/event or the category of venue/event in the specific geographic region. The system receives a response to the question from at least one of the one or more experts and routes the response back to the requestor, also in real time. The system also efficiently represents the location of a plurality of venues/events and/or users within a specific geographic region on a displayed map at a plurality of scales.

  • Patent number: 10311453
Abstract: Embodiments described herein provide a social media analytics platform. An entity may be configured with respect to the platform and a number of social media accounts, and other data such as aliases or search terms associated with the entity. Data is collected at certain intervals from the various online sites, including social media sites, using the various disparate and proprietary interfaces and data models provided by the sites and the configurations for the social media accounts associated with an entity. Using this data obtained from these online sites one or more scores can be calculated or update based on the data, where the score(s) may serve to quantify a facet of the entity's social media exposure and may serve to be domain specific to the entity. The scores for each of the indices for an entity can thus serve to quantify facets of an entity's social media exposure.

  • Patent number: 10312103
Abstract: A method for forming fins includes forming a three-color hardmask fin pattern on a fin base layer. The three-color hardmask fin pattern has hardmask fins of three mutually selectively etchable compositions. A region on the three-color hardmask fin pattern is masked, leaving one or more fins of a first color exposed. All exposed fins of the first color are etched away with a selective etch that does not remove fins of a second color or a third color. The mask and all fins of a second color are etched away. Fins are etched into the fin base layer by anisotropically etching around remaining fins of the first color and fins of the third color.

  • Patent number: 10308835
Abstract: The invention is related to a cost-effective method for making a silicone hydrogel contact lens having a crosslinked hydrophilic coating thereon. A method of the invention involves heating a silicone hydrogel contact lens in an aqueous solution in the presence of a water-soluble, highly branched, thermally-crosslinkable hydrophilic polymeric material having positively-charged azetidinium groups, to and at a temperature from about 40° C. to about 140° C. for a period of time sufficient to covalently attach the thermally-crosslinkable hydrophilic polymeric material onto the surface of the silicone hydrogel contact lens through covalent linkages each formed between one azetidinium group and one of the reactive functional groups on and/or near the surface of the silicone hydrogel contact lens, thereby forming a crosslinked hydrophilic coating on the silicone hydrogel contact lens. Such method can be advantageously implemented directly in a sealed lens package during autoclave.

  • Patent number: 10311420
Abstract: Techniques and arrangements for facilitating synchronization of open ticket functionality utilized by point-of-sale (POS) devices with kitchen display systems. In some example, a POS device receives customer orders associated with a transaction between a merchant and a customer. Based on individual customer orders, the POS device adds information associated with the individual customer orders to an open ticket, and then sends data associated with the open ticket to a kitchen display system. The kitchen display system can receive the data associated with the open ticket, create an order ticket for the individual customer orders using the data, and then provide order tickets using a user interface. In some examples, the kitchen display system then synchronizes with a counter device to provide and update order tickets.

  • Patent number: 10308960
Abstract: The present invention relates to methods for treating prostate cancer patients. It is based, at least in part, on the discovery that approximately 90% of men carrying at least one of the following fusion genes: TRMT11-GRIK2, SLC45A2-AMACR, MTOR-TP53BP1, LRRC59-FLJ60017, TMEM135-CCDC67 and CCNH-05orf30 experienced prostate cancer recurrence, metastases and/or prostate cancer-specific death after radical prostatectomy (each examples of “progressive prostate cancer”), while these outcomes occurred in only 36% of men not carrying any of these fusion genes. It is also based, at least in part, on the discovery that a genome editing technique that specifically targets a fusion gene can induce cell death in a cancer cell that carries the fusion gene.

  • Publication number: 20190163635
Abstract: Embodiments are provided for deferring allocation of storage for segments. The method includes receiving, at a first moment in time, a request to allocate a first segment within a memory. Information corresponding to the first segment is stored in a first entry in a hash table, and memory is allocated for the first segment. Information about the first segment is returned to an entity that requested the allocation of the first segment, where the first segment is not allocated auxiliary storage until predefined criteria are satisfied. At a second moment in time, upon receiving an indication to deallocate the first segment, memory corresponding to the first segment is deallocated, where the first segment is never allocated auxiliary storage and the first entry in the hash table is deleted.

  • Publication number: 20190160156
Abstract: The invention relates to the use of at least one acid stable protease in poultry feed in combination with anti-coccidial vaccination of birds for increasing the performance of vaccinated animals. It has been found surprisingly that the additions of at least one acid stable protease according to the invention to the diet of “cocci”-vaccinated birds have a significant improvement of animal performance. The inventors found that especially the use of serine proteases improve the performance of vaccinated broiler chickens, in particular, the use of serine proteases increases weight gain and improves Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR) of cocci-vaccinated birds.

  • Publication number: 20190166154
Abstract: The invention utilizes a two-component system to detect third party security threats and drive improved security threat mitigation based on the detection. The first component of the system is a security threat assessment engine, which receives and/or identifies external data and internal data regarding third parties in order to determine information security threats posed by third parties. The second component of the system is an analytics engine, which may comprise a machine learning component which is configured to detect threat patterns and anomalies. In response to the detection of the threat patterns and anomalies the security threat assessment engine may be modified in order to more accurately determine security threats.
