  • Patent number: 8628348
Abstract: A contact component of an implantable medical device connector module assembly includes a threaded bore in fluid communication with a connector bore thereof, and a flanged bore in fluid communication with the threaded bore. A perimeter surface of the flanged bore creates a shutoff with a pin during injection molding to form an insulative body of the assembly, and a perimeter surface of an insulative bore formed around the pin is preferably flush with that of the flanged bore of the contact component. A centerline axis of the flanged bore is preferably aligned with that of the threaded bore, for example, so that the molded insulative bore has a centerline axis aligned with that of the threaded bore of the contact component.

  • Patent number: 8627825
Abstract: Filter rods for use in the manufacture of cigarette filter elements are provided, with each rod having a longitudinal axis and incorporating a generally longitudinally extending filter material and a generally longitudinally extending strand within that filter material. A filter making unit receives a continuous supply of a filter material, and forms the filter material into a gathered composite having a continuous cylindrical shape. A continuous supply of a strand (e.g., colored thread) is provided and is introduced into the filter material gathered composite in the tongue of the filter making unit. The filter material and continuous strand positioned therein are formed into a continuous rod having the strand material laterally positioned within that rod, and the continuous rod is subdivided at pre-determined longitudinal intervals to provide a plurality of rod portions.

  • Patent number: 8629372
Abstract: A contact tip for a welding gun having a central passage for a welding wire moving in a given direction toward a workpiece and receiving a welding signal by contact of the wire with the tip. The passage has an innermost end, an outermost exit end and a length. An opening in the contact tip intersects the passage so a pressure block slidably mounted in the opening is biased toward the wire by a spring around the contact tip urging the block against the wire. This tip is dimensioned and constructed to perform pulse welding by a relatively ductile wire.

  • Patent number: 8629851
Abstract: Touch sensor methods, devices and systems are disclosed. One embodiment of the present invention pertains to a method comprising monitoring a finger movement along a touch sensing surface based on position data of a finger touching the touch sensing surface, where the position data is obtained by locating a position of a force applied by the finger in a coordinate of the touch sensing surface. In addition, the method comprises generating direction data associated with the finger movement if the finger movement travels for more than a threshold distance. Furthermore, the method comprises determining a finger gesture which corresponds to the finger movement using a lookup table having multiple preconfigured finger gestures based on the direction data.
