  • Patent number: 9992298
Abstract: A method for pre-fetching objects from an object store and storing them in an object cache is disclosed. In one embodiment, such a method includes monitoring access to objects in an object store. The objects have metadata tags, such as user-defined or pre-defined metadata tags, associated therewith. The method further maintains a database for metadata tags associated with the objects, and keeps track of a number of object accesses per metadata tag. In the event a threshold number of object accesses for a particular metadata tag is reached, the method promotes objects having the metadata tag and/or a related metadata tag to an object cache. A corresponding system and computer program product are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20180152607
Abstract: A method of assembling a camera suitable for vehicular use includes providing a lens accommodated in a lens barrel, a lens holder, and a printed circuit board with an imager disposed thereat. An adhesive is dispensed to establish a layer of uncured adhesive (i) between the lens barrel and lens holder or (ii) between the printed circuit board and the lens holder. With the lens in focus with the imager and optically center-aligned therewith, the adhesive is initially cured to an initially-cured state in an initial radiation curing process that includes exposure to UV light for a first period of time. The initially-cured adhesive is further cured to a further-cured state in a secondary curing process. The further-cured state is achieved within a second period of time that is longer than the first period of time.

  • Publication number: 20180148608
Abstract: Materials and methods for mitigating passive intermodulation. A membrane for reducing passive intermodulation includes a first polymeric layer, a second polymeric layer, and a continuous metal layer encapsulated between the first and second polymeric layers. A self-adhesive radio frequency barrier tape includes a waterproof polymeric top layer, a metal-containing layer adhered by an adhesive layer to the polymeric top layer, a pressure sensitive adhesive layer adhered to the metal-containing layer, and a release liner on a bottom surface of the pressure sensitive adhesive layer. A method of mitigating passive intermodulation includes passing a probe over an area of interest, the probe being sensitive to an intermodulation frequency of interest, and identifying a suspected source of passive intermodulation when the amplitude of the probe output exceeds a threshold at the frequency of interest.

  • Patent number: 9984141
Abstract: A method for inferring an application type, based on an operational characteristic I/O pattern of a storage volume. One or more processors determine at least one operational characteristic of each storage volume of a storage volume group associated with an application. One or more labels are assigned for each storage volume, based on the operational characteristics of each storage volume. At least one template is received that includes labels of storage volume characteristics of known application types. One or more processors infer a type of application associated with the storage volume group, based on a best-fit match of the aggregate labels of the storage volumes of the storage volume group to the labels included in the templates of storage volume characteristics of known application types.

  • Patent number: 9982377
Abstract: A thread conditioner dispenser is provided as well as a method of conditioning thread. The dispenser has a storage and dispensing unit and a cap unit. The storage/dispensing unit has multiple resilient plinths and a generally planar base defining a cavity. Notches are defined between the plinths. Multiple linear channels are defined in the base. One channel connects each notch with a diametrically opposed notch. The plinths define a cylindrical sidewall. The cap has a cylindrical sidewall defining an outwardly flaring mouth to engage the plinths. One of the cap inner sidewall and the storage/dispensing sidewall has an annular recess. At least one lug is formed into the other sidewall for engagement with the annular recess. Thread may be passed through one of the notches and into one of the channels and withdrawn through the diametrically opposed notch while the cap sidewall is engaged with the storage and dispensing sidewall.

  • Patent number: 9981121
Abstract: An implantable medical therapy delivery device includes a non-conductive filament extending along a length of an outer surface of an insulative body of the device, wherein the filament includes a plurality of fixation projections and is secured to the outer surface of the insulative body such that the projections protrude outward from the outer surface and are spaced apart from one another along the length of the outer surface. The filament may be wound about the length with an open pitch. In some cases, the insulative body includes an open-work member forming at least a portion of the outer surface thereof, and the filament may be interlaced with the open-work member. In these cases, the filament may be bioabsorbable, for example, to provide only acute fixation via the projections thereof, while the open-work member provides a structure for tissue ingrowth and, thus, more permanent or chronic fixation.
