Patent number: 9599275Abstract: An articulating clamp assembly for traffic control assemblies that include luminaires. The clamp assembly includes first and second clamp members. The first clamp member includes a male tubular fitting for telescopically engaging a female fitting on the luminaire. The second clamp member is attachable to the end of a luminaire arm by a tenon sleeve, to the side of a pole with saddle plate, or to a simplex fitting with a simplex mounting bracket. The front ends of the first and second clamp members have inter-engaging serrated faces that allow adjustable engagement of the two clamp members to adjust the position of the luminaire. Each clamp member defines a continuous end-to-end conductor path, and the articulating ends are formed to create a continuous concealed conductor path through the joint. The tenon sleeve may include a U-bolt to secure it to the luminaire arm.Type: GrantFiled: July 16, 2014Date of Patent: March 21, 2017Assignee: Pelco Products, Inc.Inventors: A. Patent number: 9200654Abstract: A mounting bracket assembly for supporting a traffic control device on a mast arm or pole. The bracket includes a first clamp adapted to removably attach to the mast arm or pole or other elongate support, and is designed to be positioned vertically or horizontally. A second clamp is removably attachable to pole or other elongate support member supporting the traffic control device. The second clamp includes inner and outer clamp members. The inner member has a pair of arcuate slots that are alignable with either of two pairs of bolt holes in the first clamp. Thus, the arcuate slots in the inner clamp member and the first and second pairs of bolt holes in the first clamp permit rotation of the inner clamp member 360 degrees relative to the first clamp.Type: GrantFiled: January 27, 2009Date of Patent: December 1, 2015Assignee: PELCO PRODUCTS, INC.Inventor: A. Patent number: 8875451Abstract: A screw-in foundation anchor for traffic, lighting and utility poles and the like. The anchor comprises a shaft with an upper end fixed to a base plate on which the pole base is attachable. A helical blade on the shaft allows the anchor to be driven into the earth by rotation. At least two notches are provided on the edges of the base plate, each notch sized to engage the shaft of an adjacent anchor. Multiple anchors can be strapped together in groups or bundles for storage and shipment, with the notches engaging adjacent anchor. Such an arrangement prevents dislodgement or shifting of the anchors in transit. This reduces the cost of shipping the anchors, decreases the likelihood of damage to the anchors during shipment, and improves the safety of handling the bundles and unloading the individual anchors.Type: GrantFiled: January 31, 2007Date of Patent: November 4, 2014Assignee: Pelco Products, Inc.Inventors: A. Patent number: 8173904Abstract: An adapter for use between a two-hole blade end fitting of a line post insulator arm and a Y-clevis bolt eliminates the need to replace the entire insulator arm when the end fitting fails or becomes distorted due to wear of the Y-clevis bolt. The adapter includes a body with a two-hole insulator end that connects to the end fitting and a single or double eye conductor end that supports the Y-clevis bolt. The conductor end is configured to align the load axis of the insulator arm with the Y-clevis bolt to transfer the tension load effectively through the adapter. Annular shoulders surround the two holes in the adapter back and the insulator end of the body. The shoulders extend into the bolt holes in the end fitting to center the bolts and form a clamp on the blade end to prevent further damage to the end fitting.Type: GrantFiled: April 17, 2010Date of Patent: May 8, 2012Assignee: Pelco Products, Inc.Inventors: A. Patent number: 7997546Abstract: A mounting assembly for supporting a traffic camera or other traffic control device high above traffic. The assembly includes a conventional camera bracket, a vertical pole of at least two inches in diameter, an adapter for attaching the camera bracket to the top of the pole, and a mounting bracket for attaching the pole to the mast arm or other support. The bracket includes an adapter plate by which the pole can be rotated relative to the support so the camera can be mounted on either a vertical or a horizontal support structure. The bracket also includes a clamp that attaches to the support structure by a three point attachment. This versatile mounting assembly can support a traffic control device 10-15 feet above the mast arm or other support, without significant movement of the pole relative to the bracket or of the bracket relative to the support.Type: GrantFiled: April 29, 2008Date of Patent: August 16, 2011Assignee: Pelco Products, Inc.Inventors: Gordon Andersen, A. Patent number: 6357709Abstract: A bracket assembly to support a traffic control device or other object on a mast arm or other support. The bracket assembly generally includes male and female tubular members. The female tubular member is split longitudinally, and clamped around the male tubular member by means of bolts or the like. The two halves of the split female member are identically formed, which simplifies manufacturing as only one mold is required. Further, each of the female member halves is provided with attachment means for using either cable or steel band to mount the bracket to the mast arm. Each half of the female member has a notch or pawl to which the band/cable screw assembly is inserted. When the two identical halves are placed around the male tubular member, the paw is on opposite sides of the anchor plate. In this way, the tension on half is exerted in a direction opposite to the tension on the other half.Type: GrantFiled: June 23, 1999Date of Patent: March 19, 2002Inventor: A. Philip Parduhn

Patent number: 6204446Abstract: A handhole compartment for utility poles. The compartment includes an oval sidewall sized to be received in the handhole, and a removable cover. The cover is equipped with a latch at each end. A foot on the end of the latch engages a notch in the sidewall. The foot is controlled by rotating the head of the latch on the top of the cover using an Allen wrench. The latch eliminates the need to align and thread bolts. The cover is molded plastic so that warping, common to metal covers, is virtually eliminated and so that the desired shape and size can be reproduced consistently. A lip on the edge of the cover provides a seal around the edge of the sidewall.Type: GrantFiled: July 30, 1999Date of Patent: March 20, 2001Inventor: A. Philip Parduhn

Patent number: 5935478Abstract: A device and a method for cooking bacon and other strips of food which lose liquids during the cooking process. The device has a generally rectangular base and cover. The base has an arcuate cooking surface which is gently arched. The base also has a trough surrounding the bottom of the arcuate cooking surface along three sides for collecting the cooking liquids. The cover has an arcuate portion which conforms to the arcuate surface of the base. A skirt with recessed corners extends from the arcuate portion of the cover along three sides and cooperates with the trough in the base. Cooking liquids may be poured from the trough through pour spouts formed in the corners of the base in cooperation with the recessed corners in the cover. The device is held together by a fastening device which locks the cover to the base. A pair of handles formed along two sides of the base provide ease in handling the device and in pouring cooking liquids from the base.Type: GrantFiled: June 17, 1997Date of Patent: August 10, 1999Assignee: Pelco, Investments, L.L.C.Inventor: A. Patent number: 5299111Abstract: A device for directing a beam of light from a light source to a predetermined view range. The device is particularly suitable for installation inside the visor of a traffic signal, although other applications will be apparent. Two or more baffles are selectively positioned within a hollow housing. The baffles are uniformly formed and each has a plurality of apertures. The baffles are thin plates and are aligned so that each set of corresponding apertures creates a tunnel for a portion of a beam of light from the light source. Due to the thinness of the baffles, the "tunnels" have no walls and no substantial surface area to deflect light rays outside the selected view range. This provides a sharp on-off effect at the periphery of the view range. Yet, a "full ball" effect is provided within the view range.Type: GrantFiled: September 12, 1991Date of Patent: March 29, 1994Inventors: A. Philip Parduhn, Michael N. Fiske, John D. Schmidt

Patent number: 4691884Abstract: A golf bag support formed from a tubular housing which may be attached either to the interior or exterior of a golf bag. A spike section is received within the lower end of the housing, where it may be held in a normally retracted position. A wing section abuts the spike section and extends outside the housing through an open-ended longitudinal slot formed in the end of the housing. Supported by the wing section is a pedal section, which may be depressed to drive the wing and spike sections into the ground, in order to maintain the housing and attached golf bag in an upright position. When the wing and spike sections are removed from the ground a biasing spring anchored within the housing returns the spike section to its normally retracted position within the housing. A cross member is positioned within the housing between the biasing spring and the spike section to prevent depression of the pedal section beyond the lower end of the housing.Type: GrantFiled: December 2, 1985Date of Patent: September 8, 1987Inventor: A.
