  • Publication number: 20080119077
Abstract: A device for feeding electricity under high voltage to a superconductive apparatus is situated in a cryostat. The device comprises two bushings each comprising a first connection terminal situated outside the cryostat, and a second connection terminal situated inside the cryostat. According to the invention, the distance D between the first connection terminals is greater than the distance d between the second connection terminals, the distances D and d being sufficient to avoid electric discharge either between the first terminals or between the second terminals. Advantageously, the cryostat includes an enlargement situated above the two bushings and between them.

  • Publication number: 20080117642
Abstract: A proposed method to illuminate optimally, or at least in an improved fashion compared with existing solutions, a road taken by a vehicle in question implementing the method whilst ensuring that other vehicles are not dazzled. To this end, it is not proposed in the invention to detect the distance between the vehicle in question and the first vehicle liable to be dazzled by the vehicle in question, and to generate accordingly a light beam optimized in terms of range on the road, and advantageously light intensity; according to the invention, the optimization of the light beam produced is achieved by the use of the motorway function available on the vehicle in question. The use of this function in this context also ensures a gradual transition between the function of the dipped type and the function of the main-beam type in the context of automatic switching operations between these functions.

  • Publication number: 20080120022
Abstract: A method for determining routes for a digital road network system on the basis of a main route connecting a starting point to a finishing point. The method makes it possible to reach a point of interest (POI) reachable by a plurality of secondary routes intersecting the main route. An optimal POI overall route is determined by performing the following steps. First, a POI overall route is evaluated for each of the potential secondary routes on the basis of at least the following route elements: (1) a useful portion of a main route and a corresponding score, the score being assigned a factor “k” lying between 0.1 and 0.7, and (2) the chosen secondary route and a corresponding score. Then, the POI overall route whose resulting score is optimal is chosen.

  • Patent number: 7375165
Abstract: The invention relates to thermoplastic compositions comprising a thermoplastic polyamide matrix and at least one additive which modifies the interaction between the matrix and an agent. The purpose of the invention is to provide an additive which modifies the interaction between a copolyamide-type thermoplastic copolyamide matrix and at least one agent. The aforementioned additive, which comprises at least one hyperbranched functionalised polymer, is not compatible with the matrix. Moreover, said additive can be used for the controlled modification of the interaction between the thermoplastic copolyamide and an internal or external chemical agent. Preferably, the composition does not contain hyperbranched polymers which produce therein a reduction in the molar mass of matrix M which is greater than or equal to 7% in relation to a sample composition which comprises matrix M but does not contain hyperbranched polymer additive(s). Said mass measurement is taken preferably using a determined protocol P.

  • Patent number: 7374256
Abstract: An agricultural vehicle is disclosed having ancillary equipment that may be raised and lowered relative to the ground with consequential changing of the position of the center of gravity of the vehicle and having a hydraulic braking system comprising a master cylinder and a slave cylinder. The braking system further includes a pressure relief valve for limiting the hydraulic pressure applied to the slave cylinder only when the vehicle is in road mode. This ensures that the braking force does not exceed a safe limit below which the vehicle does not risk toppling forwards when braking.

  • Patent number: 7375208
Abstract: The abundance of the 96 most abundant EST cluster sequences in a wheat lemma/palea cDNA library was investigated in a range of cDNA libraries made from various wheat tissues. 30 cDNA sequences showing highly enhanced abundance in lemma, palea and glume tissues over leaf, stem, embryo, endosperm and root tissue were selected for further analysis. These wheat EST cluster sequences were used to identify rice cDNA homologs. The abundance of the rice cDNA homologs was compared in rice leaf and panicle (includes lemma and palea) cDNA libraries. Rice cDNAs showing preferential expression in the panicle were then used to identify homologous rice genomic DNA clones, the putative promoter sequences have been identified and cloned.

  • Patent number: 7376236
Abstract: A speaker device for emitting subsonic, sonic or ultrasonic compression waves comprising a generally hollow drum, a rigid emitter plate attached to the drum, and a plurality of apertures formed within the plate which are covered by a thin piezoelectric film disposed across the emitter plate. A pressure source is coupled to the drum for developing a biasing pressure with respect to the thin film at the apertures to distend the film into an arcuate emitter configuration capable of constricting and extending in response to variations in the applied electrical input at the piezoelectric film to thereby create a compression wave in a surrounding environment. Parametric ultrasonic frequency input is supplied to the piezoelectric film to propagate multiple ultrasonic frequencies having a difference component corresponding to the desired subsonic, sonic or ultrasonic frequency range.

  • Patent number: 7374214
Abstract: Magnets attach a resilient material protector to the sides of a vehicle. The protector also includes a hook that fits between the vehicle door and the door post to prevent the protector from being removed from the vehicle when the door is locked. The protector has two portions that fold over each other such that the magnets on the respective portions align with each other and secure the portions together in a stowed position. The hook embeds in one portion of the protector and can extend between the vehicle door and its post to secure the protector to the vehicle. A recess opposite the hook in the other portion of the protector receives the hook's free end. The magnets have soft material on their outside to prevent the magnets from scratching the vehicle.
