  • Patent number: 7315810
Abstract: The present invention is a named entity (NE) interface to a linguistic analysis layer. The interface exposes each input sentence to the NE recognizers of all applications and returns all recognized NEs. Thus, the present invention can accommodate NEs which dynamically change in the applications, because each input string will be handed to the applications for NE recognition. The present invention also includes a data structure which is a normalized form of recognized NEs.

  • Patent number: 7314711
Abstract: This invention pertains to the general field of chemical and biological assays which employ electrochemiluminscence (ECL), also referred to as electrogenerated chemiluminescence. More particularly, the present invention pertains to certain classes of chemical moieties which strongly quench ECL, and the use of these ECL quenchers in combination with ECL labels, for example, in ECL assay methods which employ an ECL quencher and an ECL label. One class of such quenching moieties are those which comprise at least one benzene moiety. Sub-classes of such quenching moieties are those which comprise at least one phenol moiety, quinone moiety, benzene carboxylic acid, and/or benzene carboxylate moiety.

  • Publication number: 20070297556
Abstract: A welding system for performing a welding process on a pipe in a confined space includes a motor housing, a weld head assembly and an insertion tube that extends between the motor housing and the weld head assembly with the weld head assembly remote from the motor housing. The motor housing is supported on a platform for rotational and translational movement of the weld head assembly and houses a motor for positioning the weld head assembly relative to the pipe. The weld head assembly includes a clamp assembly for attaching the weld head assembly to the pipe and a weld tool assembly mounted adjacent the clamp assembly for welding the pipe. An arc length gear and a travel gear adjust the distance between a torch assembly and the pipe and adjust the location of the torch assembly around the pipe when the weld head assembly is attached to the pipe.

  • Patent number: 7312704
Abstract: A security system to create and maintain a secure communication link between a remote secure storage site and a law enforcement office using a continuous prearranged encrypted signal on the communication link. The authenticity of the encrypted signal is validated at the law enforcement office. Interruption of the encrypted signal is treated as an alarm that must be investigated. Sensors at the remote secure storage site detect intrusions and trigger the transmission of an alarm signal from the site to the law enforcement office on the communication link. The law enforcement office may enable video cameras or containment devices in the event of an intrusion.

  • Patent number: 7312305
Abstract: The present invention provides a means of selectively killing epithelial cell carcinomas by administering a CXCR4-specific sequence of the Gp120 protein or Nef proteins or the proteins themselves (the modulators) such as that found in strains HIV-1, HIV-2, SIV, or FIV CXCR4-specific Gp 120 sequences or Nef proteins or sequences may be delivered to the mucosa or systemically. The mucosal means of application include oral, intranasal, ocular, intravaginal, rectal, and/or intraurethral administration in liquid or particulate form.

  • Publication number: 20070288210
Abstract: In an embodiment, a drawing file and an interface application are activated. Geometry data is extracted from the drawing file with the interface application. In another embodiment, contents of a geometry file can be automatically read into a drawing application to create a drawing file. Contents of the geometry data file may be revised before being read. In another embodiment, a finite element model can be generated. A control file for an item to be modeled is selected. Contents of the selected control file and part geometry data files identified in the selected control file are read. A finite element model for each part is generated simultaneously from all of the part geometry data files. When more than one part geometry data files are identified in the control file, all of the finite element models of the parts can be integrated into a finite element model of a product.

  • Patent number: 7305893
Abstract: An oscillating vane actuator for active control of fluid flow over a surface includes a pivoted vane surrounded by a wedge-shaped chamber, and first and second conduits with openings adjacent the surface. The actuator also includes a rotating shaft with a connecting rod to actuate the vane in a oscillatory manner. As the vane travels in one direction, fluid is forced out from the chamber through the first conduit and opening into the fluid stream adjacent the surface, while fluid is simultaneously drawn in through the second opening and conduit into the opposite side of the chamber. Similarly, when the vane travels in the opposite direction, fluid is forced out through the second conduit and opening into the fluid stream adjacent the surface, while fluid is simultaneously drawn in through the first opening and conduit.

  • Patent number: 7308453
Abstract: This invention describes a method for indexing, retrieval and managing of stored messages using a meta-data approach in a portable communication device such as a mobile electronic device or a mobile phone. Main implementation stages to achieve this can include (but are not limited to): calculating and storing of meta-data for a new message when the new message is received; indexing of all messages into all supported hierarchies using their meta-data; and using a user interface to facilitate displaying supported hierarchies and retrieving desired messages. The invention idea is to store all the desired meta-data related to every message stored in the message storage area of the portable communication device and to provide dynamic capabilities for indexing said meta-data into existing and possibly newly created hierarchies and to provide a fast retrieval of the messages by effectively managing said hierarchies.

  • Publication number: 20070275260
Abstract: Provided are palladium-containing powders and a method and apparatus for manufacturing the palladium-containing particles of high quality, of a small size and narrow size distribution. An aerosol is generated from liquid feed and sent to a furnace, where liquid in droplets in the aerosol is vaporized to permit formation of the desired particles, which are then collected in a particle collector. The aerosol generation involves preparation of a high quality aerosol, with a narrow droplet size distribution, with close control over droplet size and with a high droplet loading suitable for commercial applications. Powders may have high resistance to oxidation of palladium. Multi-phase particles are provided including a palladium-containing metallic phase and a second phase that is dielectric. Electronic components are provided manufacturable using the powders.
