  • Publication number: 20220411280
Abstract: A process for manufacturing nickel sulphate by leaching metal particles comprising nickel in an aqueous sulphuric acid solution, said process comprising the steps of: introducing the metal particles in the aqueous sulphuric acid solution introducing an aqueous hydrogen peroxide solution in the aqueous sulphuric acid solution containing the metal particles wherein the aqueous hydrogen peroxide solution is introduced progressively into the aqueous sulphuric acid solution containing the metal particles.

  • Patent number: 6207108
Abstract: Storage stable, aqueous acidic solutions having a pH in the range of from 1 to 5 comprising at least one ester peracid having general formula where R represents an alkyl group having from 1 to 4 carbons and x equals 1 to 4, are provided. The solutions can be prepared by contacting an aqueous solution of a carboxylic compound having general formula where x is from 1 to 4 and R represents an alkyl group having from 1 to 4 carbons with an inorganic peroxygen compound, preferably hydrogen peroxide, at a pH of less than 4 until at least some ester peracid is produced, and thereafter adjusting the pH to be in the range of from 1 to 5, if necessary.

  • Patent number: 6008405
Abstract: The current invention relates to the stabilisation of peroxyacid solutions. There is provided a tin based stabiliser composition obtained by the ageing of an alkaline solution of a tin compound and a phosphorus containing compound. The stabiliser is particularly suitable for the stabilisation of non-equilibrium solutions of peroxyacids.

  • Patent number: 5914303
Abstract: An aromatic peroxyacid which satisfies the general formula (1):X--Ar--CO--NY--R(Z)--CO--OOH (1)in which X represents hydrogen or a compatible substituent, R represents --(CH2).sub.n -- in which n=2 or 3, and Y and Z each represent independently a substituent selected from hydrogen or an alkyl or aryl group or an aryl group substituted by a compatible substituent or alkaryl group provided that at least one of Y and Z is not hydrogen if n=3. The peroxyacid is an effective bleaching and disinfecting agent which has a long shelf life and good resistance to impact, pressure and thermal shocks, and is useful in bleaching, washing and disinfecting compositions.

  • Patent number: 5670470
Abstract: A process for stabilising percarbonate by coating with a coating agent. The percarbonate particles are treated with a concentrated aqueous solution containing at least one boron compound selected from the metal and ortho boric acids and at least one phosphate. Water is removed to provide the coated percarbonate particles which are useful in bleaching and washing compositions.

  • Patent number: 5665427
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for stabilizing particulate alkali metal percarbonate by coating by coating it with an aqueous solution, preferably concentrated, of a complex formed from a boric acid or borate and an organic diol, polyol or hydroxycarboxylic acid, to the resulting coated product, and to compositions including the product. The coating can additionally contain an alkali metal neutral salt such as sodium chloride or sodium sulphate.

  • Patent number: 5266587
Abstract: The invention provides a new sub-class or organic peroxyacids comprising N-alkyl substituted peroxytrimellitimide of formula (I) in which R=hydrogen or linear or branched alkyl, which demonstrates an excellent combination of safe-handling and bleach performance rendering the sub-class particularly suitable for use as bleach and/or disinfectant in various bleach, bleach additive or washing compositions. Effective bleaching peroxyacids include those in which R=n propyl, iso-propyl, n butyl, sec-butyl, n pentyl and n heptyl. The invention also comprises processes for making the peroxyacids, compositions containing them and processes for washing and/or bleaching and/or disinfecting employing the invention peroxyacids or compositions containing them.
