  • Patent number: 10440645
Abstract: A device may receive signal information associated with a wireless signal or charge information associated with a charge level. The signal information may indicate a signal strength of the wireless signal. The charge information may indicate the charge level of a battery of the device. The device may determine whether the signal strength or the charge level satisfies a threshold. The device may configure a parameter or a setting of the device to cause the device to operate according to a long term evolution (LTE) category based on determining whether the signal strength or the charge level satisfies the threshold. The LTE category may be different from a default LTE category of the device and may define an uplink/downlink capability specification. The device may attach to a network in association with configuring the parameter or the setting to cause the device to operate according to the LTE category.

  • Patent number: 10435996
Abstract: A segregated flow mechanism of oil and water usually takes place in the presence of strong gravity forces in subsurface environments, having specific geometrical and petrophysical properties undergoing simultaneous flow of multiphase fluids. The segregated flow of oil and water is modeled as a two-layer reservoir system, based on the observed data. Accurate estimates or measures of the values of phase mobility of oil and water, in addition to the actual flow capacity of the formation are provided. Reliable reservoir characterizations and reserve estimations are provided based on the in-situ conditions of oil and water in the reservoir.

  • Patent number: 10436741
Abstract: A method of measuring a hydrogen diffusivity of a metal structure is provided. The method includes providing a hydrogen charging surface at a first location on an external surface of the structure, and a hydrogen oxidation surface at a second location adjacent to the first location on the external surface of the structure. A hydrogen flux is generated and directed into the metal surface at the charging surface. At least a portion of the hydrogen flux generated by the charging surface and diverted back toward the surface is detected, and a transient of the diverted hydrogen flux is measured. The hydrogen diffusivity of the metal structure is then determined based on the measured transient.

  • Patent number: 10438064
Abstract: A picture of a person's face is present in a mixed reality system. The mixed reality system has a monitoring or updating process that attempts to detect the presence of faces in the mixed reality. When a picture of a face is detected, the system detects edges of a picture frame or physical borders of the picture. If the picture is bounded by edges or is otherwise in a suitable physical form, then a canvas object is generated. The canvas object is arranged in the mixed reality to coincide with the picture of the face. A face recognition algorithm is used to find an identity of the face. Information updates specific to the identity of the face are obtained, applied to the canvas, and the canvas is rendered in the mixed reality. A viewer of the mixed reality will observe the information updates replacing or overlaying the picture.
