  • Patent number: 8625338
Abstract: Asymmetric switching is defined for magnetic bit cell elements. A magnetic bit cell for memory and other devices includes a transistor coupled to an MTJ structure. A bit line is coupled at one terminal of the bit cell to the MTJ structure. At another terminal of the bit cell, a source line is coupled to the source/drain terminal of the transistor. The bit line is driven by a bit line driver that provides a first voltage. The source line is driven by a source line driver that provides a second voltage. The second voltage is larger than the first voltage. The switching characteristics of the bit cell and MTJ structure are improved and made more reliable by one or a combination of applying the higher second voltage to the source line and/or reducing the overall parasitic resistance in the magnetic bit cell element.

  • Patent number: 8626902
Abstract: The power consumed by a large IT system may be managed by individual servers calculating a set of predictors of the resources of the large IT system that may be required for a future time period, and weighting factors for those predictors. The predictors and weighting factors may be based on historical data showing actual resources used and past values of the predictors and weighting factors. An estimate of the resources required for the large IT system is then produced based on the predictors and weighting factors and the estimate is then used to determine excess resources of the individual server that may be put into a low power state in the future time period to minimize the power used. If too much resource is excess, the server may enter a soft off state.

  • Patent number: 8626879
Abstract: Systems and methods facilitate communication between clients, servers or other nodes located on separate local area networks (LANs) or sub-networks within a home, office, campus or other environment using one or more mediation servers located within the local network environment. The server establishes a persistent connection to each available mediation service. The client requests a connection to the server by providing addresses or other connection information associated with the client to one or more of the mediation servers in communication with the server. The mediation server(s) send network information associated with the client to the server via the persistent connections. The server responds to the mediation server(s) by providing network information that can be relayed to the client. When the client and server have exchanged network information, communications between the client and server can be established using conventional or proprietary network address translation (NAT) or other techniques.

  • Publication number: 20140005815
Abstract: A method and system for blind audio watermarking has been envisaged. The system embeds an in-audible watermark by modifying a predetermined singular value in the wavelet domain. The generated watermarked audio signals are robust again Gaussian noise and other watermark removal and compression attacks. Also, the system can perform watermark extraction/detection in real-time without requiring in advance, either the original audio signal or its processed parameters. Thereby, the method and system provide a real-time, efficient technique for blind audio watermarking.

  • Publication number: 20140003313
Abstract: With the proliferation of Machine-Type Communication (MTC), an excessive use of device trigger messages in a Long Term Evolution (LTE) network can have negative effects on user equipment (UE). These effect can include a shortening of UE battery life and/or excessive signalling caused by the frequent changing from an idle mode to an active mode. An MTC Interworking Function (MTC-IWF) can be configured to determine the status of a UE to which a device trigger message is intended. If the device trigger message is low priority and the UE is in an idle state, the MTC-IWF or Mobile Management Entity (MME)/Serving GPRS Support Node (SGSN)/Mobile Switching Center (MSC) can buffer the device trigger message.
