For example, a merchandise security device may include a lock configured to be secured to a movable structure and a strike plate configured to be secured to a fixed support structure. The movable structure is configured to move along a path into engagement with the fixed support structure to secure the item of merchandise therein in a locked state and to move out of engagement with the fixed support structure for removal of the item of merchandise in an unlocked state.
