    Abstract: A composition and a method for inhibiting corrosion of a metal by contacting a metal surface with the composition. The composition includes a wood tar oil, from an Olea europaea subsp. Cuspidate plant, and an alcohol solvent. The wood tar oil is present at 5%-80% v/v relative to the total volume of the composition, and the alcohol solvent is present at 10%-95% v/v relative to the total volume of the composition. The composition has a coating resistance of greater than 2.5 ohms and inhibits corrosion of a metal.
