  • Publication number: 20240088701
Abstract: A constant voltage may be used during battery charging to reduce or avoid the formation of a dendrite, such as a stepped constant voltage. For each charging period, each level of the stepped constant voltage may be calculated to ensure a corresponding current level within each period remains below a safe current limit. A voltage transition between any two periods may occur in response to expiration of a predetermined time, or in response to a determination that the current level has fallen below a lower current limit. A current level during each period may be maintained such that the battery heat is maintained below a reference heat level, which may increase battery cycle life (e.g., battery capacity or maximum recharging cycles). The battery heat may be measured directly or indirectly, or may be estimated based on other measured or controlled values.

  • Patent number: 11918362
Abstract: A surgical method aids identification of nerves in a body to help prevent damage to the nerves during surgery to the body proximate the nerves. An electrode introduced to within a body cavity through a catheter is placed proximate a nerve within the body cavity by a laparoscopic or robotic device. An exploratory probe placed in the body cavity is selectively placed along a presumed pathway of the nerve to provide an electrical signal through the nerve to the electrode. An analyzer interfaced with the electrode analyzes the electrical signal received at the electrode to determine the proximity of the exploratory probe to the nerve, allowing mapping of the nerve pathway through the body cavity.

  • Publication number: 20230401704
Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosure include methods for implementing a predictive model that predicts pluripotency of cells through a cost efficient and non-destructive means. The predictive model analyzes contrast images captured from the cells and outputs predictions of cellular pluripotency at the cellular level. Thus, implementation of the predictive model guides the selection and isolation of cells that are predicted to be pluripotent. Furthermore, the predictive model facilitates retrospective analyses to correlate pluripotency metrics with differentiation success and further enables tracking of cellular pluripotency over time (e.g., to evaluate differentiation of cells).

  • Patent number: 11842553
Abstract: Aspects of the technology described herein describe a system for detecting and reducing wear in industrial equipment. Aspects of the technology use 3D image data from a field inspection of industrial equipment to identify and quantify wear. The wear can be detected by providing the images from the field inspection to a computer classifier for recognition. Aspects of the technology also use machine learning to recommend a change to the operation of the equipment to minimize wear. Such a change could include load shedding, lube oil feed rate changes, prompts for maintenance, etc. Through incorporation of the wear data into the control system, the equipment can automatically change operation to improve wear performance and increase the durability and lifetime of the equipment.
