  • Publication number: 20220401724
Abstract: The method for protecting biological objects (BO) from the negative influence of technogenic electromagnetic (EM) radiation in a wide range of frequencies, which consists of creating a coherent field in the form of a fractal matrix around a biological object using a fractal-matrix as coherent transducer based on a self-affine annular raster lattice (resonator) formed from ringed topological lines, which create a slit-like raster, and is a universal Fourier transformer that harmonizes the amplitude, phase, frequency and polarization vector of external technogenic radiation and the BO's own EM radiation. The transformation of external radiation occurs in accordance with the Fourier transform with the formation of a coherent matrix of EM wave superpositions. The coherent matrix does not conflict with the BO. The transformation does not affect the functioning of the technical devices. The coherent transformer can be placed on the BO, or between the BO and the source.

  • Patent number: 11322765
Abstract: Methods for optimizing, designing, making, and assembling various component parts and layers to produce optimized MEAs. Optimization is generally achieved by producing multi-layered MEAs wherein characteristics such as catalyst composition and morphology, ionomer concentration, and hydrophobicity/hydophilicity are specifically tuned in each layer. The MEAs are optimized for use with a variety of catalysts including catalysts with specifically designed and controlled morphology, chemical speciation on the bulk, chemical speciation on the surface, and/or specific hydrophobic or hydrophilic or other characteristics. The catalyst can incorporate non-platinum group metal (non-PGM) and/or platinum group metal (PGM) materials.

  • Patent number: 11226292
Abstract: A method of analysing an at least partially transparent object, such as a gemstone, includes fixing the object in a holder; immersing the object in the holder in an immersion material; and analysing internal and/or external features of the object. Analysing comprises visualizing an internal and/or external portion of the object using light rays while the object is immersed in the immersion material, and determining characteristics of the object based on the visualized internal and/or external portion of the object. During the analysing step, the difference between the refractive index (RI) of the immersion material and the RI of at least an immersed portion of the holder, which is in contact with the object, is less than 0.3.

  • Patent number: 10891201
Abstract: Automated Tiered Storage (ATS) has become widely accepted technique in IT industry. Since IO data has different data densities on storage systems, higher storage capacity and improved performance can be achieved by combining two or more storage device tiers having different performance and cost characteristics. These multiple different storage device tiers can be combined into one automated storage pool, which automatically chooses optimal data placement for achieving both the highest performance and the lowest cost. When the storage device tier information can be stored as metadata for each of the data chunks. When there is a system failure and data needs to recovered, the device tier information metadata can be used to restore data to the predetermined optimum storage device tier of the ATS system which shortens the post-recovery warm-up time.

  • Publication number: 20200406353
Abstract: Material and power techniques for producing solid three-dimensional materials. In one aspect, a composite material is based on a quasicrystal powder of an Al—Cu—Fe system with a nickel binder, the composite material containing a reinforcing nickel lattice. In a second aspect, the composite material is obtained by applying a nickel coating to quasicrystal powder particles of an Al—Cu—Fe system. The quasicrystal powder can be treated in plasma to form a thin (10-20 nm) nickel coating on the surface of the powder particles. The treated powder, which is a dispersed composite material, can then be pressed at room temperature under quasi-hydrostatic conditions at a pressure of more than 1.5 GPa.

  • Patent number: 10864460
Abstract: A variety of inorganic-organic hybrid materials and various methods for preparing and using the same are described. The hybrid materials are graphene or graphitic materials populated with organic molecules and may have a variety of surface defects, pits or three-dimensional architecture, thereby increasing the surface area of the material. The hybrid materials may take the form of three dimensional graphene nanosheets (3D GNS). If the organic molecules are enantiospecific molecules, the hybrid materials can be used for chiral separation of racemic mixtures.

  • Publication number: 20200202736
Abstract: The present technology measures memorability of multimedia messages by users. A “10-20 electrode system” is installed on the head of a user and reference electrodes are installed on each earlobe or mastoid of the user. A multimedia message is presented to the user and, concurrently, a brain activity index of the user is recorded using the 10-20 electrode system and the reference electrodes. A memorability of the multimedia message by the user is evaluated based on the recorded brain activity. This evaluation may include a determination of a leads entropy measured using a first electrode of the 10-20 electrode system along with the reference electrodes, and a determination of coherence leads determined based on various pairs of electrodes of the 10-20 electrode system along with the reference electrodes.
