  • Patent number: 6461874
Abstract: It has been found that casein and salts of casein are useful as replacements for, or in addition to, BSA as materials for coating solid phases, particularly magnetic particles, used in immunoassays and other binding assays for separation of the desired analyte. By using casein, immunoassays having improved stability and fewer discordant samples have been developed. Casein used at a concentration of 0.05-4.0 grams per gram of paramagnetic particle (optimally approximately 0.78-1.2 grams of casein per gram of magnetic particle) has been found to confer this benefit.

  • Patent number: 6451533
Abstract: The present invention relates to a Helicobacter pylori gene, fldA, a putative flavodoxin gene and whose expression is associated with mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue lymphoma of the stomach (MALToma). A G insertion at position 481 of the fldA gene was more frequently observed in strains associated with MALToma than other strains. Therefore, the present invention provides a new method to identify H. pylori patient with higher risk of developing gastric MALToma.

  • Publication number: 20020114253
Abstract: A disc receiver device comprises a loader that can rotate through a motor and transmits power. The loader comprises a plurality of gears meshing with each other and includes a sun gear and a planet gear. The planet gear has two degrees freedom of motion of a self -rotation and a revolution that takes the sun gear as a center. The tray is driven to move by means of the self-rotation of the planet gear, enabling the tray has a retracting position projecting out of the disc driver and a loading position moving into the disc driver. And a set of sliding plates that are engaged with shafts of a mecha are driven to move by means of the revolution of the planet gear, enabling the sliding plate has a first position corresponding to the retracting position and a second position corresponding to reading position to control the inward and outward movement of the disc and the upward and downward movement of the mecha.

  • Patent number: 6272664
Abstract: A system and method for using scalable polynomials to translate a look-up up table delay model into a memory efficient model. The system of the present invention receives an input library of predefined cells having a number of predefined look-up tables for modeling timing arcs through circuit paths of the cells. Each look-up table is referenced by two input variables (e.g., input transition rate and output load capacitance) which correspond to an output delay time. The present invention analyzes each memory inefficient look-up table and selects a polynomial form (of two variables) for representing the timing data of the look-up table. The polynomial form is selected from scalable polynomial systems (e.g., the decomposed Taylor Series and the Joint Taylor Series). The polynomial forms that are selected can have different orders (e.g., first, second, third, etc.) for the input variables.

  • Patent number: 5883001
Abstract: A method for forming a UV transmission passivation coating on an integrated circuit, such as EPROM, after completion of the active device and metal routing circuitry comprises depositing a first barrier dielectric layer over the integrated circuit; smoothing out underlying features by applying a layer of flowable dielectric over the first dielectric layer; and depositing a second dielectric layer over the flowable dielectric. Next a photoresist pattern is made over the second dielectric coating, having an opening layer over the at least one conductive pad. A wet etch process is used to remove portions of the second dielectric layer exposed by the opening. A dry etch process is used to remove portions of the remaining layers exposed through the opening, including the remaining portions of the second dielectric layer, the flowable dielectric layer and the first dielectric layer, down to the conductive pad. Finally, the photoresist is removed.

  • Patent number: 4791703
Abstract: The present invention relates to a length adjustable center rod structure for a vertical shutter drape. The center rod is located in the inner side of an over-head track, and has two or more sections of telescoped hollow tubes so that the length thereof can be easily adjusted for length variations of the over-head track. The positioning of each hollow tube for the telescoping, is guided by a respective quasi-U-shaped, latitudinal, and straight trough provided on the tube wall. Each trough is also utilized for the reception of a downwardly protruding quasi-U-shaped tongue located on the sleeve axle inner surface sliding elements. When the center rod is rotated, it drives every shutter blade axle of the sliding elements to rotate via their respective sleeve axles.
