  • Patent number: 10832312
Abstract: A system may provide an augmented environment that facilitates a transaction. The system may store profile data including user payment or user profile information. The system may then receive environmental data including audio and visual information representing a physical environment. The system may then receive first user input data indicative of a selection of one or more items present in the physical environment, and identify one or more action items in the environmental data based on the first user input data. In response to this identification, the system may augment the environmental data by adding virtual environmental data, and then provide this virtual environmental data to a device to create an augmented environment. The system can then receive second user input data, and provide purchase request data to a merchant terminal to enable a transaction related to the one or more action items.

  • Patent number: 10834436
Abstract: Particular embodiments provide a system to determine ad segments in a video asset to enable subsequent ad replacement in video programs. The system is included in a multiple service operator (MSO) system that broadcasts video programs via a broadcast schedule. The MSO may not know the location of the ad segments in the video asset. To determine the ad segments, the MSO uses a classifier to classify video program segments and advertisements in the video asset. The classifier may be integrated with an nDVR system. By integrating with the nDVR system, particular embodiments may determine user behavior information, such as trick play commands, from the nDVR system. The classifier may use the user behavior information to detect ad segments in the video asset. In one embodiment, the classifier may fuse outputs from different detectors to detect and validate ad segments in the video program.

  • Patent number: 10830709
Abstract: An interferometer uses a phase shift mask that includes an array of pixels that are aligned with a corresponding array of pixels of a detector. Each pixel in the phase shift mask is adapted to produce one of a number of predetermined phase shifts between a test beam and a reference beam. For example, the pixels may be linear polarizers or phase delay elements having one of the number of polarizer orientations or phase delays to produce the predetermined phase shifts between the test beam and the reference beam. The pixels in the phase shift mask are arranged in the array to include each of the predetermined phase shifts in repeating pixel groups in rows that are one column wide, columns that are one row high, or blocks of multiple rows and columns.

  • Patent number: 10832645
Abstract: A transducer apparatus for a labrosone is disclosed, the labrosone having a labrosone resonant chamber. A labrosone speaker delivers a sound signal to the labrosone resonant chamber. A labrosone microphone receives a resultant sound from the labrosone resonant chamber. A mouthpiece microphone receives sound from a labrosone mouthpiece. An electronic processor is connected to the labrosone speaker, and receives signals from the labrosone microphone and the mouthpiece microphone. The electronic processor generates an excitation signal which is delivered as an acoustic excitation signal to the labrosone resonant chamber by the labrosone speaker. The electronic processor uses the signals from the labrosone microphone and the mouthpiece microphone to determine a desired musical note which a player of the labrosone wishes to play. The electronic processor then synthesizes and outputs the desired musical note to an output device, whereby the musical note is played audibly and/or displayed visually to the player.

  • Patent number: 10833380
Abstract: The present disclosure provides systems and methods associated with mode conversion for electromagnetic field modification. A mode converting structure (holographic metamaterial) is formed with a distribution of dielectric constants chosen to convert an electromagnetic radiation pattern from a first mode to a second mode to attain a target electromagnetic radiation pattern that is different from the input electromagnetic radiation pattern. A solution to a holographic equation provides a sufficiently accurate approximation of a distribution of dielectric constants that can be used to form a mode converting device for use with one or more transmission lines, such as waveguides. One or more optimization algorithms can be used to improve the efficiency of the mode conversion.
