Abstract: Provided are a computer program product, system, and method for using an alias volume name for a volume to allocate space to a data set. An assignment of a plurality of volumes to a data set is maintained, wherein the volumes are configured in a storage system. A request is received to extend the data set. An alias volume name is assigned to the data set for a previously assigned volume to the data to extend the data set in response to one of the previously assigned volumes having available space to extend the data set. A base volume name is assigned to the data set for a volume not assigned to the data set in response to one of the previously assigned volumes to the data set not having available space to extend the data set.

Abstract: An optoacoustic system includes first and second light sources capable of generating pulse of light at first and second wavelengths, optical output control, first and second light sync detectors, and a combiner. A power meter that is calibrated to determine power at the first and second predominant wavelength measures power at the first wavelength after the first light sync is detected and measures power at the second wavelength after the second light sync is detected. The system includes a calibration mode wherein it reduces optical output of the first light source when the power measured by the power meter at the first wavelength after the first light sync is detected is above a first level, and reduces optical output of the second light source when the power measured by the power meter at the second wavelength after the second light sync is detected is above a second level.

Abstract: We provide a securement apparatus or clip including a flexible unibody member that allows two sides of the clip to be separated, allowing the clip to be placed around a rod to support a curtain. Each part of the clip that is in contact with the rod includes a point of minimal contact with the rod, designed to reduce friction and to help maintain the clip on the rod.

Abstract: A method receives video content and metadata associated with video content. The method then extracts features of the video content based on the metadata. Portions of the visual, audio, and textual features are fused into composite features that include multiple features from the visual, audio, and textual features. A set of video segments of the video content is identified based on the composite features of the video content. Also, the segments may be identified based on a user query.

Abstract: Methods and systems for managing network communications are described. An example resource management system includes a communications manager configured to access information regarding communication protocols used by corresponding broker systems and to provide message translations based on an origin and/or destination of the message to be transmitted. A message processor is coupled to the communications manager and is configured to serialize incoming and/or outgoing broker messages and to facilitate queuing of incoming and outgoing message traffic with broker systems. A communications configurer is configured to track one or more communication attributes of broker systems and changes thereto to ensure communications between the resource management systems are broker systems are conducted in accordance with the communication attributes of the broker systems. A communications rules provider is configured to determine which broker system is to be communicated with in order to fulfill a resource request.

Abstract: An ion manipulation method and device to prevent loss of ions is disclosed. The device includes a pair of surfaces. An inner array of electrodes is coupled to the surfaces. A RF voltage and a DC voltage are alternately applied to the inner array of electrodes. The applied RF voltage is alternately positive and negative so that immediately adjacent or nearest neighbor RF applied electrodes are supplied with RF signals that are approximately 180 degrees out of phase.

Abstract: Embodiments are directed towards generating application models based on discovery based machine learning. A mobile application may be uploaded to a computer that may be part of a testing platform. A reference mobile computer may be selected and the mobile application maybe installed onto the reference mobile computer. Also, the testing platform may generate an initial application model based on the mobile application. The current active window of the mobile application may be determined and the application model may be updated accordingly. Screenshots may be generated that correspond to each current active window of the mobile application. Also, each user-interface control in the active window may be activated. The results of activating each control may be observed and added to the model. If the activation causes navigation, another active window may be determined. The application model may be used for testing other mobile computers.

Abstract: Generally, this disclosure describes technologies for restoring and/or synchronizing templates such as biometric templates to/among one or more client devices. In some embodiments one or more client devices may register with a synchronization server and provide encrypted copies of their reference templates to the server. In a restoration operation, the synchronization server may provide an encrypted copy of a client's reference template(s) to the client, which may decrypt them in a protected environment. In a synchronization operation, the synchronization server may provide encrypted copy of a first client's template(s) to a plurality of second clients. The second clients may then decrypt the encrypted template(s) within a protected environment using an appropriate decryption key.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for adjusting heater power of an oxygen sensor. In one example, a method for an engine includes adjusting heater power of a heating element of the oxygen sensor when the heater power increases by a threshold amount. The method includes subsequently increasing heater power back to a baseline power level responsive to a temperature of the heating element.

Abstract: An electronic funds transfer consumer authorization verification system for efficiently proving that a consumer authorized a financial transaction via an ACH network. The electronic funds transfer consumer authorization verification system generally includes accepting by a business an authorization from a consumer to debit and/or credit the consumer's financial account in a specified amount via an ACH network, communicating the ACH detailed record for the ACH transaction along with a transaction data file from the business to a third-party payment processor, and communicating to the business a transaction key associated with both the ACH detailed record and the transaction data file. The transaction data file is an image data file that may be comprised of an ACH authorization signature or statement by the consumer authorizing the ACH transaction, a copy of the identification documents for the consumer and/or state licensing information for the business.

The TEE may provide the LTS location to applications of the mobile device.

These include tools and techniques for automatically creating a unique package that tells a user-specific story about memorable life events. Electronic media files such as photographs, videos, and the like, of a user may be captured and linked to a unique identifier. The electronic media files may be transmitted to a central server where they may be aggregated and utilized to generate a multimedia file for user. The multimedia file may include electronic media files captured at disparate locations and times, and it may include stock content, user-generated content, third-party content, and the like. Users may access archived stories (e.g., multimedia files) in a virtual bookshelf Third-parties may be compensated for their content that is provided to a user.

Abstract: We describe an integrated waveguide device that creates entanglement between a sequence of periodically spaced (in time) photons in a single input and output mode. The device consists of a polarization maintaining integrated waveguide chip containing a number of delay lines, integrated multimode interferometers with the potential for rapid switching, a polarization controller and off chip computer logic and timing. The device is capable of creating a diverse array of outputs such as linear cluster states and ring cluster states in a single output mode.

Abstract: A prosthesis is formed by providing a first positive mold portion representation of a prosthetic mating body portion of the user and a second positive mold portion representing a symmetrical body portion of the user. In one instance a front shell portion is molded overtop of the second positive mold portion and a rear shell portion is positioned over the first positive mold portion prior to joining with the application of a finish coating of silicone. In some instances a fabric material is stretched onto one of the mold portions prior to coating the fabric with silicone such that the fabric is impregnated with silicone to define an exterior shell of the prosthesis once cured. In a further instance, a resilient prosthetic shell is formed using negative molds of the prosthetic mating and symmetrical body portions of the user prior to filling the shell with a core material.

Abstract: A sensor comprises a pair of mirrors (11, 12) opposed along an optical axis and shaped to provide an optical cavity with stable resonance in at least one mode and having a cavity length of at most 50 ?m. An actuator system is arranged to move the mirrors relative to each other along the length of the optical cavity for tuning the wavelength of the mode of said cavity. A chemical sample is introduced inside the optical cavity using a sample introduction system (21). An EM radiation source (20) illuminates the cavity and a detector (25) detects the EM radiation emitted from, transmitted through, or reflected from the optical cavity.

Abstract: Disclosed are advances in the arts with novel methods and apparatus for detecting faulty connections in an electrical system. Exemplary preferred embodiments include basic, ASIC, AC, DC, and RF monitoring techniques and systems for monitoring signals at one or more device loads and analyzing the monitored signals for determining fault conditions at the device loads and/or at the main transmission lines. The invention preferably provides the capability to test and monitor electrical interconnections without fully activating the host system.

Abstract: A serpentine robotic crawler having multiple dexterous manipulators supported about multiple frame units. The frame units are connected via an articulating linkage at proximal ends wherein the articulating linkage is capable of positioning the frames into various configurations. Dexterous manipulators are coupled to distal ends of the frame units and are positionable via the articulating linkage and articulating joints therein into various positions about the frame ends. The configurations and positioning of the dexterous manipulators allows the robotic crawler to perform coordinated dexterous operations.

Abstract: Described is a mountable thermos adapted to be secured to a tree or other vertical support surface. The thermos includes a container having a bottom end, sidewalls, and an open upper end having a removable lid thereon. The sidewall of the container includes a spout that allows a user to easily dispense the substance held within the container. The container further includes a handle to allow a user to grasp the thermos, and a mounting attachment that can be removably engaged with a fastener that can be inserted into a tree or other surface. The container may further include a tray assembly on the bottom end thereof, wherein the tray assembly can be extended so as to support a cup below the spout. Further, a cup can be removably secured on the upper end of the container in an upside-down configuration for storage and travel.
