  • Patent number: 11489823
Abstract: An enclave manager of a network enclave obtains a request to retrieve configuration information and state information corresponding to compute devices and network devices comprising a network enclave. The request specifies a set of parameters of the configuration information and the state information usable to generate a response to the request. The enclave manager evaluates the compute devices, the network devices, and network connections among these devices within the network enclave to obtain the configuration information and the state information. Based on the configuration information and the state information, the enclave manager determines whether the network enclave is trustworthy. Based on the parameters of the request, the enclave manager generates a response indicating a summary that is used to identify the trustworthiness of the network enclave.

  • Patent number: 11489814
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer-readable media for customized domain name resolution for virtual private clouds are disclosed. A domain name system (DNS) resolution service receives a DNS request from a computing resource associated with a virtual private cloud (VPC) in a cloud provider network. The service determines that the VPC is associated with one or more firewall rules. Responsive to determining that the VPC is associated with the firewall rule(s), the service determines whether the DNS request is allowed or blocked according to the one or more firewall rules. If the DNS request is allowed, the service resolves the DNS request using a DNS server and returns a response to the computing resource. If the DNS request is blocked, the service does not resolve the DNS request.

  • Patent number: 11489167
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing a supported catalyst material for a fuel-cell electrode, as well as a catalyst material that can be produced using said method. In the method, first, a carbide-forming substance is deposited from the gas phase onto the carbon-based carrier material to produce a carbide-containing layer and, then, a catalytically-active precious metal or an alloy thereof from the gas phase is deposited to form a catalytic layer. By chemical reaction of the carbide-forming substance with the carbon, very stable carbide bonds are formed at the interface, while an alloy phase of the two forms at the interface between carbide-forming substance and precious metal. Overall, a very stable adhesion of the catalytic precious metal to the substrate results, whereby degradation effects are reduced, and the life of the material is extended.

  • Patent number: 11489484
Abstract: A solar energy harvesting assembly having a unique attachment that can be arranged, mounted, moved and attached to new or existing structures. Solar rings are mounted on any vertical structure that may benefit from solar power using an aesthetically pleasing design that is resistant to wind load. The assembly does not require the need for pitch, azimuth or bearing measurements. The assembly is also capable of energy harvesting from reflected light below with the use of bifacial photovoltaic panels. The mounting design allows the solar energy harvest device to be installed on any vertical structure, including light poles, power poles, parking structures and other minimal load bearing structures. Further, the assembly can be attached to water towers, existing radio towers (guyed, monopole, stealth, self-supporting towers) all used to create vast amounts of unshaded vertical space for solar energy harvesting.

  • Patent number: 11489875
Abstract: The use of device context in applying security policies is provided by receiving a Domain Name Service (DNS) query for a network resource from a user device (UD) at a DNS analysis server, the DNS query including a functional label describing a context of the UD; analyzing the DNS query to determine whether the UD is permitted to access the network resource based on the functional label; and in response to the functional label indicating that the UD is not permitted to access the network resource, transmitting a block page to the UD. The functional label can be added to the DNS query by a Mobile Device Management application on the UD, a router associated with the UD, or an enterprise server. Contexts for previously blocked DNS queries can be aggregated to identify UDs sharing at least one value with the previously blocked DNS queries as security compromised devices.
