  • Patent number: 10557714
Abstract: The present invention combines the geographical coverage possible with fixed, pre-defined route segment costs (e.g. the legal speed limit) with, wherever possible, richer time dependent costs. A user of, for example, a portable navigation device, can therefore continue route planning as before to virtually any destination in a country covered by the stored map database, but wherever possible, can also use traffic data with time-dependent costs, so that the effect of congestion with any time predictability can be accurately taken into account as an automatic, background process. It leaves the user to simply carry on driving, following the guidance offered by the navigation device, without needing to be concerned about congestion that exists now, and whether it will impact his journey.

  • Patent number: 10555817
Abstract: An orthopedic device for implanting between adjacent vertebrae comprising: an arcuate balloon and a hardenable material within said balloon. In some embodiments, the balloon has a footprint that substantially corresponds to a perimeter of a vertebral endplate. An inflatable device is inserted through a cannula into an intervertebral space and oriented so that, upon expansion, a natural angle between vertebrae will be at least partially restored. At least one component selected from the group consisting of a load-bearing component and an osteobiologic component is directed into the inflatable device through a fluid communication means.

  • Patent number: 10560552
Abstract: Systems and methods for performing genomic information compression, transmission, and decompression are provided. A system for compression, transmission, and decompression of genomic information includes a first computer associated with a first index and a second computer associated with a second index, each index containing reference permutations of nucleic acid sequence portions, each permutation associated with a reference number. The first computer uses input genomic information and the first index to produce a compressed representation of the genomic information, and transmits the compressed representation to the second computer. The second computer uses the compressed representation and the second index to assemble a data representation of the genomic information. The compressed representation comprises references to permutations, indications of locations of each permutation in the input information, indications of variations to permutations, and/or indications of sequence length.

  • Patent number: 10557902
Abstract: Radio frequency (RF) shields used with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) apparatus may experience gradient field induced eddy currents and RF field induced eddy currents. These eddy currents can cause the RF shield to heat up at an undesirable rate. RF shields are designed to have a desired degree of RF shielding and a desired heating attribute. Design goals for RF shields include gradient field transparency and RF field opacity, both of which can be influenced by eddy currents. Example methods identify a gradient field that will induce eddy currents and identify an RF field that will induce eddy currents. If a region on the RF shield is identified where the desired heating attribute will not be achieved, then a pattern of axial cuts and azimuthal cuts can be made in the RF shield to reduce gradient eddy current heating in the RF shield while maintaining desired RF shielding.

  • Patent number: 10560349
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for providing a Policy Enforcement as a Service (PEaaS) are described. A processor may, in response to identification of a suspension of user(s) for one of one or more services, generate a suspension value indicative of the suspension and transmit the suspension value to a corresponding one of third party platforms of the service(s), respectively. The suspension value usable by the corresponding third party platform to determine whether to deny request(s) from the user for the distributed service, or not. A service of the service(s) comprises a distributed service provided by a plurality of hosts. In response to the service corresponding to the suspension including the distributed service, the suspension value may be transmitted to the first host, and the suspension value may be propagated to the one or more second hosts, respectively. Other embodiments may be described and/or claimed.

  • Patent number: 10558193
Abstract: To optimize an automatically optimized machining time for machining a workpiece in a machine tool, an original parts program is loaded into a machine tool controller. The machining of the workpiece using the original parts program is simulated, where a motion path generated by the original parts program in the machine tool is determined. The motion path is classified into at least one area of potential optimization in which there is no workpiece contact. The at least one area of potential optimization is assigned a tolerance space. An optimized motion path is determined within the tolerance space. The machining of the workpiece using the modified parts program is simulated. The optimized motion path is displayed and marked. Once a user has approved the modification in the parts program, machining of the workpiece takes place using the modified parts program.

  • Patent number: 10560095
Abstract: According to various aspects, systems and methods for providing a soft-decoding physical unclonable function are provided. According to one embodiment, PUF circuitry includes circuit elements with impedance values that are used to generate a PUF value. For example, one or more resistors may be connected to a voltage source. The resistors may generate a resulting voltage signal that is measured and indicates a ratio of the impedance values of the resistors. Due to manufacturing variations, each impedance value may be unique, such that the impedance values may be used to provide a unique number sequence. Each ratio value may be converted into a single bit or multi-bit digital value through digitization, for example with a comparator and/or an analog to digital converter, and the series of digital values may represent or be used to generate a unique number sequence.
