  • Publication number: 20180183777
Abstract: Methods and systems for passwordless authenticating of a user are provided. A first request to access a first content is received from a first user of a first device. A first challenge is sent to the first device in response to the first request. The first challenge is resolved using a first private key associated with the first user for the first content. A first response, including a resolved challenge, is received from the first device. It is determined whether the first response is an acceptable response to the first challenge. Access to the first content is granted to the first user in response determining that the first response is an acceptable response.

  • Publication number: 20180184536
Abstract: A device includes a joining partner, which protrudes at a submersion depth into a recess filled at least partially with a fixing element in a substrate surface of a substrate. A compensating element is situated between the joining partner and the fixing element. The compensating element is situated at least partially in the fixing element within the submersion depth of the joining partner. Accordingly, the compensating element is in contact with the joining partner and with the fixing element. In this way, an expansion change or a movement of the fixing element, of the substrate or of the joining partner may be compensated for by a compression or elongation of the compensating element. A crack formation may be avoided or its effect may be minimized by the sealing function.

  • Publication number: 20180177642
Abstract: A cast system, which includes: a padding layer configured to be disposed within a cast and support a portion of a patient's limb; a casting material which hardens around the padding layer and form an outer shell of the cast surrounding the patient's limb; and a wire saw configured to be disposed within the cast and extend along a longitudinal axis of the cast. The wire saw has a cutting surface which is at least partly enclosed by a plastic sheath. By enclosing the wire saw cutting surface in a plastic sheath, the saw does not lock up during the cutting operation, cutting is facilitated, allowing for easy and safe removal of the cast by pulling at least one end of the wire saw so as to cut through the outer shell of the cast.

  • Publication number: 20180177508
Abstract: An embodiment of the invention is a shape memory polymer (SMP) foam designed to recover its original shape through exposure to a solvent. Thermo-responsive SMPs are polymers designed to maintain a programmed secondary shape until heated above their transition temperature, upon which the polymer recovers its original, or primary, shape. The thermo-responsive SMP foam is programmed to its secondary shape prior to use, typically compression of the foam to a small volume, and remains in this programmed shape until exposed to a selected solvent such as dimethyl sulfoxide or ethyl alcohol. Upon exposure to the solvent, the transition temperature of the SMP foam decreases below the temperature of the environment and the SMP foam actuates to its primary shape. The SMP foam is tailored to actuate upon exposure to specific solvents while minimizing or preventing actuation when exposed to water or other solvents.

  • Publication number: 20180179061
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention are directed to a sulfur recovery system that utilizes a degassing system for degassing liquid sulfur. The degassing system includes a degassing device vessel, a pressure equalizer, a motive force device, a sulfur cooler, and/or a process gas cooler. The degassing system may be located within or outside of the sulfur recovery unit and utilizes the process gas from the sulfur recovery unit. The degassing device may receive liquid sulfur and process gas, which are passed through a catalyst, which along with the process gas, degases the liquid sulfur. As such, the degassing system when used within the sulfur recovery unit degasses the liquid sulfur to reduce off-gassing of dangerous hydrogen sulfide during storage and transportation without the need for additional equipment to degas the liquid sulfur during or after the sulfur storage.

  • Publication number: 20180182477
Abstract: The invention relates to the administration of prescription drug formulary information. A list of drugs that a particular prescription drug plan will pay for in whole or in part is called a formulary. The invention involves the use of information and customizable rules associated with formularies, combined with information from patient medical records, to generate custom, dynamic formularies applicable to specific patients, groups of patients, or both. Depending on the choice of rules and the other information, this may help payers control prescription drug costs by encouraging the use of less-expensive drugs when medically appropriate, but without impairing the freedom of prescribers to prescribe specific drugs according to their professional judgments. Some embodiments may also be adapted to generate and store data about the use and functioning of the embodiments or aspects of them and to generate reports containing some or all such data in response to queries.

Abstract: A method for producing a contoured ring rolling product for a rotating application from a ring blank, with a ring rolling machine controlled in a process-monitored manner. At least one process window, extending over the rolling time, is defined in relation to preselected process parameters for the specific product on the basis of calibrating specimens brought into their final form by the ring rolling machine. The process window(s) monitored during the process is/are determined by the process parameters of calibrating specimens which produced rolled products meeting the requirements demanded of the ring rolling product. • Publication number: 20180181439
Abstract: A computing system may be configured to implement a plurality of agents each associated with a predetermined number of CPU cores and a predetermined amount of memory and to receive requests to perform tasks. A request may specify the number of CPU cores and amount of memory for performing the task. Allocation of resources may include determining multiple allocation profiles, each describing a possible allocation of cores and memory to the task from currently available CPU cores and memory associated with the agents. For each agent and for each of said allocation profiles, respective efficiency measures for memory usage and CPU usage may be calculated.
