Abstract: A method and system for last-meter parcel delivery in multi-unit dwellings are provided. The method includes receiving, at an agent coordinating back-end, parcel delivery information of a parcel to be delivered to a recipient by a courier service, determining one or more agents capable of receiving parcels for last-meter delivery to the recipient, and transmitting a delivery notification based on the parcel delivery information to one or more agent devices associated with the one or more agents. The method also includes receiving confirmation from an agent device that the delivery notification is accepted, transmitting, to the courier service, agent information for re-routing the parcel to the agent, receiving a confirmation from the agent device that the parcel is received by the agent, and receiving a confirmation from the agent device that last-meter delivery of the parcel to the recipient is performed.

The composition includes magnesium oxide having purity of 94-98 wt %; magnesium chloride; fly ash; and water. The magnesium oxide has at least two different particles sizes. The composition and method of making the structural assembly board promote formation of 5MgO·MgCl2·8H2O to improve structural qualities of the structural assembly board.

Abstract: An insulation material formed of a composition, and a method of making an insulation material is provided. The composition forming the insulation material includes magnesium oxide; at least one of magnesium chloride, magnesium sulfate, and hydrates thereof; water; a foaming agent; a thickener; and a foam stabilizer. The composition is foamed to promote aeration of the composition to reduce density of the insulation material formed from the composition.

Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and computer program products are described herein that are configured for creating a hybrid recommendation algorithm that programmatically decreases the importance of the content-based data as the basis of affinity data supporting collaborative filtering grows over time. One example embodiment may include a method for computing a content based similarity metric between a first item and a second item, accessing each of one or more instances of affinity data; and calculating an overall similarity metric between the first item and the second item, the overall similarity metric being a function of the content based similarity metric between the first item and the second item and a number of instances of empirical data for the items, the function defined such that as the number of instances of empirical data increases, the overall similarity metric increases a relative contribution in favor of the empirical data.

Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and computer program products are described herein that are configured to programmatically synthesize multiple five different sources of data bearing on user preferences for providing a recommendation of an item in response to a recommendation request. One example embodiment may include a method for receiving a recommendation request, providing a search result, the search results generated by querying a set of (target user, affinity) pairs for items matching the search terms and sorting the matching items according to a combination of the affinities and a strength of text matching.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method for flexibly and efficiently representing and applying business rules in a transaction-processing relational database management system (RDBMS) environment. The method includes providing a deterministic rule-based expert-system shell. A late-binding mechanism within the RDBMS environment is also provided. An extensible data-maintenance mechanism is created for the rule-based expert-system shell. The extensible data-maintenance mechanism maintains sets of approval rules governing business transactions generated by other transaction-processing applications. The data-maintenance mechanism uses late binding to make the sets of rules and rule components stored in the data-maintenance mechanism arbitrarily extensible. A rule-processing engine applies the sets of approval rules stored in the extensible data-maintenance mechanism to business transactions originating in transaction-processing applications.
