  • Publication number: 20120191293
Abstract: A powertrain optimization device and method that compares a predicted performance of customer-selected vehicle components to a customer-selected optimization goal. The optimization goal is used to determine dynamic performance thresholds. The method compares gradability at cruise, gradability at peak torque, engine speed, and startability to the dynamic thresholds to determine whether the vehicle performance will be satisfactory. The customer selections of vehicle components, selections of optimization goals, and any acknowledgements of failed performance checks are stored for later use.

  • Patent number: 8229824
Abstract: Users participate in an estimate contest and a prediction market for forecasting an outcome of a future event. Data from the estimate contest and the prediction market can be combined to obtain accurate information about overall group beliefs and individual or sub-groups beliefs. In the estimate contest, users provide estimated probabilities of occurrence for different possible outcomes of the event. Trades can be proposed, or automatically executed, based on differences between the user's estimated probabilities and probabilities obtained from a prediction market in which the user can buy and sell securities which represent the different outcomes. For example, a buying opportunity may be present when the user's estimated probability exceeds the prediction market's probability. Further, the user can express a risk level which is factored into the proposed trades.

  • Patent number: 8229727
Abstract: A system and method for incorporating design behavior and external stimulus in microdevice model feedback using a shared memory is presented. The invention describe herein uses the attached memory model to provide additional heuristics to an application executing on an emulation system's device model, which results in a more detail and real-life device emulation. The attached memory model provides a storage area for a runtime software environment to store emulation data, which is subsequently provided to the device model during emulation. The emulation data may include 1) randomization stimuli to the device model, 2) additional runtime data for checking heuristics, and 3) emulation data points that are otherwise not accessible to the device model.

  • Patent number: 8229984
Abstract: A computer system is used to create an application. A multi-platform application intended for two or more target platforms is created using an authoring environment. The application is converted into a multi-platform master application template by creating an application representation and creating associated metadata that define at least one allowable modification that may be made to the application representation. For each target platform, an application is created from the multi-platform master application template suitable for the target platform, and the application and multi-platform master application template are submitted to a certification body for certification on the target platform. The certification process affirms that the application, with any modification to the application specified by the multi-platform master application template metadata, meets all requirements for certification.
