Patent number: 11954366Abstract: Providing constant fixed commands to memory dies within a data storage device may result in hardware and firmware overheads impacting the performance at a flash interface module (FIM) because the FIM has to handle both the constant fixed commands and the overheads associated with the constant fixed commands. To avoid the impact on performance at the FIM, multiple fixed commands may be combined into individual multi-commands that may be provided to the memory dies. The use of multi-commands reduces hardware and firmware overheads at the FIM relative to the constant fixed commands, which improves performance of the data storage device because the saturation of the FIM is decreased.Type: GrantFiled: May 26, 2022Date of Patent: April 9, 2024Assignee: Western Digital Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Dinesh Kumar Agarwal, Vijay Sivasankaran, Mikhail Palityka

Patent number: 11954613Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer program product for establishing a logical connection between an indirect utterance and a transaction is described. An indirect utterance is received from a user as an input to a conversational system. The indirect utterance is parsed to a first logical form. A first set of predicates and terms is mapped from the first logical form to a first subgraph in a knowledge graph. A second set of predicates and terms is mapped from a second logical form belonging to a transaction to a second subgraph of the knowledge graph. A best path in the knowledge graph between the first subgraph and the second subgraph is searched for while transforming the first logical form using the node and edge labels along the best path to generate an intermediate logical form. A system action is performed for a transaction if a graph structure of the intermediate logical form matches the graph structure of the logical form of the transaction above a threshold.Type: GrantFiled: February 1, 2018Date of Patent: April 9, 2024Assignee: INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORPORATIONInventors: Mustafa Canim, Robert G Farrell, Achille B Fokoue-Nkoutche, John A Gunnels, Ryan A Musa, Vijay A Saraswat

Publication number: 20240112088Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for vector-quantized image modeling using vision transformers and improved codebook handling. In particular, the present disclosure provides a Vector-quantized Image Modeling (VIM) approach that involves pretraining a machine learning model (e.g., Transformer model) to predict rasterized image tokens autoregressively. The discrete image tokens can be encoded from a learned Vision-Transformer-based VQGAN (example implementations of which can be referred to as ViT-VQGAN). The present disclosure proposes multiple improvements over vanilla VQGAN from architecture to codebook learning, yielding better efficiency and reconstruction fidelity. The improved ViT-VQGAN further improves vector-quantized image modeling tasks, including unconditional image generation, conditioned image generation (e.g., class-conditioned image generation), and unsupervised representation learning.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 27, 2023Publication date: April 4, 2024Inventors: Jiahui Yu, Xin Li, Han Zhang, Vijay Vasudevan, Alexander Yeong-Shiuh Ku, Jason Michael Baldridge, Yuanzhong Xu, Jing Yu Koh, Thang Minh Luong, Gunjan Baid, Zirui Wang, Yonghui Wu
