Publication number: 20250023999Abstract: A supply item has toner for use in an imaging device. A chip has memory storing quanta indicating allowed usage of the supply item over its lifetime and a multiplier correlating the quanta to toner mass. The imaging device requires quanta to conduct imaging operations and loads the quanta and multiplier by way of a certificate stored in the memory. The imaging device retrieves quanta from the chip over time and both devices keep tally. Initialization between the supply item and imaging device includes providing encrypted and unencrypted instances of firmware versions and certificates from the supply item that the imaging device can compare for security. Alternatively, the supply item defines a fuser assembly, imaging unit, intermediate transfer member, or other component installed for use in the imaging device.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 26, 2024Publication date: January 16, 2025Inventors: STEPHEN PORTER BUSH, NATHAN WAYNE FOLEY, TIMOTHY JOHN RADEMACHER, JENNIFER TOPMILLER WILLIAMS, GREGORY SCOTT WOODS, CHRISTOPHER ALAN ADKINS

Patent number: 12193721Abstract: Apparatus and associated methods relate to controlling electrical power of an electrotherapeutic signal that is provided to a biological tissue engaged by an electrosurgical instrument during a medical procedure. Electrical power—a product of a voltage difference across and an electrical current conducted by the engaged biological tissue—is controlled according to a therapeutic schedule. The electrotherapeutic schedule can be reduced or terminated in response to a termination criterion being met. In some examples, the termination criterion is a current characteristic, such as, for example, a decrease in current conducted by the engaged biological tissue. In some examples, the termination criterion is a biological tissue resistance characteristic, such as, for example, an increase in the biological tissue resistance that exceeds a predetermined delta resistance value.Type: GrantFiled: May 14, 2020Date of Patent: January 14, 2025Assignee: Gyrus ACMI, Inc.Inventors: Kester Julian Batchelor, Maureen D. Busche, Wayne Williams

Publication number: 20240403821Abstract: The present invention is a system and method for managing stored things using scannable pieces/devices and a mobile application. The system includes small adhesive scannable pieces that are removably attached to storage spaces, as well as a mobile application that can scan the scannable components to access data on the items kept in the related storage spaces. Users, upon scanning the scannable pieces which contain item lists, find, and manage their stored goods using the mobile application without having to physically open and look through storage spaces. The scannable components are lightweight, adaptable, and simple to attach and detach from storage areas. The method makes things easier for users and can be used for inventory control and item identification in warehouses.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 5, 2023Publication date: December 5, 2024Inventor: Wayne A. Publication number: 20240305141Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatuses for receiving wireless power using a wireless power receiver client architecture are disclosed. A simplified wireless power receiver apparatus includes an energy storage device and a radio frequency (RF) transceiver including an antenna. Energy harvester circuitry is coupled to the energy storage device and the RF transceiver, and control circuitry is coupled to the energy storage device, the RF transceiver, and the energy harvester. The control circuitry causes the RF transceiver to: establish a connection with a wireless power transmitter (WPT), transmit a beacon signal to the WPT, and receive a wireless power signal from the WPT. The control circuitry causes the energy harvester to deliver at least a portion of energy of the wireless power signal to the energy storage device for storage therein. In some embodiments, a single antenna is utilized both for transmitting the beacon signal and for receiving the wireless power signal.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 20, 2024Publication date: September 12, 2024Applicant: Ossia Inc.Inventors: Hatem Ibrahim Zeine, Douglas Wayne Williams, James J.
