  • Publication number: 20230209698
Abstract: A system is provided for accelerating charged particles and producing high energy photons. The system includes a nanostructure comprising at least one tube having a hollow core channel surrounded by a wall of a nanomaterial, e.g., comprising wall electrons and ions. The nanostructure is configured to interact with a beam of charged particle having a quasi-solid beam density, e.g., greater than 1018 cm?3. The beam of charged particles gains energy or momentum at an average acceleration gradient, e.g., greater than 1 TeraVolt (TeV) per meter along a longitudinal direction, and undergoes focusing in a transverse direction to increase the density of the beam of the charged particles, e.g. by at least an order of magnitude.

  • Publication number: 20230082458
Abstract: A method and apparatus for processing a particle shower using a laser-driven plasma is provided. The method comprises interacting a particle shower with a processing laser-driven plasma stage, the particle shower comprising at least one particle species, wherein the laser is a high-energy, ultra-short pulse laser. In some embodiments, the method comprises accelerating, decelerating, trapping, or collimating the at least one particle species in the processing laser-drive plasma stage. Particularly, the embodiments enable generating high energy particle beams that were only possible using accelerators spanning several hundred meters, in a space of a few meters.

  • Patent number: 10623369
Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices of the various embodiments may enable discovery and announcement of secondary end-point reachability information in communication networks. Various embodiments may provide an intermediate IP routing system that may identify and advertise a mapping of a static IP address as reachable via a dynamic IP address assigned to an end-point (e.g., a computing device) in a communication network. Various embodiments provide systems, methods, and devices for advertising static IP address mapping in an IP network.

  • Patent number: 8660142
Abstract: Disclosed is a method of scheduling bandwidth, comprising, receiving a first bandwidth request associated with the first communication device. Receiving, from a policy agent, a second bandwidth request associated with a second communication device. The second bandwidth request does not originate from the second communication device. Bandwidth is granted to the first communication device based on the first bandwidth request. Bandwidth is granted to the second communication device based on the second bandwidth request.

  • Patent number: 8411798
Abstract: Disclosed is a method of controlling a receiver. A group identifier or modulation and coding scheme is sent in a physical layer header. This group identifier or modulation and coding scheme, or both, determine whether the corresponding physical layer frame should be fully demodulated and decoded. If it is not necessary to fully demodulate and decode the physical layer frame, the receiver may disable its demodulator, decoder, or both. This results in a power savings. A hub device sends the group identifier or modulation and coding scheme in the physical layer header. This allows receivers that are not addressed by the group identifier, or modulation and coding scheme, to disable at least a portion of their circuitry. Disabling at least a portion of circuitry saves power consumption and dissipation. The hub device may also send control messages to tell the receiver which group identifiers, or modulation and coding schemes, they should respond to.
