  • Patent number: 7756306
Abstract: A method and apparatus for extracting a cerebral ventricular system from images of one or more cerebral ventricular regions comprises defining multiple regions of interest (ROI) in the images, defining seed points within each ROI, growing images of ventricular regions while correcting for leakages into extraventricular space and connecting the ventricular regions grown.

  • Publication number: 20100049035
Abstract: The brain structure is extracted from CT data based on thresholding and brain mask propagation. Two thresholds are determined: a high threshold excludes the high intensity bones, while a low threshold excludes air and CSF. Brain mask propagation uses the spatial relevance of brain tissues in neighbouring slices to exclude non-brain tissues with similar intensities.

  • Publication number: 20090092953
Abstract: Electronic data for presenting images to teach radiology diagnosis are stored on a computer readable storage medium. The stored data includes an image table that includes indexed radiology images to be displayed; a frame table that includes frame entries, each for displaying a frame in a sequence of frames to be displayed and comprising a time indicator indicating a time to display the frame in the sequence, and display state data indicating a display state of one of the radiology images to be displayed in the frame; at least one annotation table including data defining teaching annotations to be superimposed on at least one radiology image. Each frame entry is associated with a radiology image and each annotation table is associated with a frame entry. An encoder/decoder is provided for encoding and storing the data in a file and for decoding and presenting images formed from the data.

  • Publication number: 20080225044
Abstract: A method for editing three dimensional images comprises the steps of obtaining three dimensional data representative of an image (2), segmenting the data to select data to be processed (3), generating a three dimensional model of the selected data (6) and interpolating the three dimensional model of the selected data to generate a continuous three dimensional model (8). One or more tri-planar contours are then extracted from the continuous three dimensional model (10) and the continuous three dimensional model may then be edited. A three dimensional surface model is then generated from the one or more extracted tri-planar contours. The three dimensional surface model may also be edited (12).

  • Publication number: 20060182321
Abstract: A method for extracting third ventricle information from images of a plurality of axial slices of a third ventricle of a brain comprises determining a midline for each of a number of the axial slices, determining the orientation of each of the midlines, generating a histogram of the orientations of the midlines, determining the peak of the histogram to provide a peak orientation, selecting the midlines having an orientation within a predetermined angle from the peak orientation and calculating the third ventricle plane from the midlines having an orientation within the predetermined angle from the peak orientation.
