Abstract: Novel tools and techniques are provided for implementing conflict resolution for electronic program guides. In various embodiments, a computing system might receive a plurality of metadata each from a metadata source among a plurality of metadata sources, each of the metadata corresponding to a video content, might compile the plurality of metadata, might determine whether at least one metadata of the plurality of metadata is inconsistent with other metadata of the plurality of metadata. Based on a determination that at least one metadata is inconsistent with other metadata, the computing system might analyze the plurality of metadata to determine which set of metadata more accurately corresponds to the video content, might modify one or more metadata based on such determination, might generate an EPG that presents the video content, using metadata consistent with the modified one or more metadata, and might display the EPG on a display device.

Abstract: Disclosed embodiments include set-top box (STB) devices, systems and apparatus providing integrated video projection and Internet of Things (IoT) control functionality. Device embodiments include an internal power supply, logic and wireless radios providing for connection to various networks. Therefore, device embodiments are portable and typically provided in a small housing. Alternative embodiments include methods of providing STB, video projection and IoT control functionality with a relatively small and easily transported self-contained, self-powered device.

Abstract: A privacy management system is disclosed for when a calling party has a private telephone number. Privacy screening services allow a subscriber to manage and monitor incoming telephone calls, such that unwanted calls are not terminated to the subscriber. When a calling party calls the subscriber to this privacy screening service, the privacy management system manages the call according to whether the calling party number is known and public, known and private, or unknown. If the calling party number is known and public, the call is routed to the subscriber. If, however, the calling party is known and private, an announcement is played to the calling party, asking the calling party for permission to override his or her privacy. If the calling party is unknown, the calling party is asked to record his/her name.

The telephone call is from a calling telephone number to a called telephone number. An action is taken in response to the call screening request. The action could be playing an announcement, terminating the connection, forwarding to voice mail, storing the calling telephone number in a database, adding the calling telephone number to a Do Not Call list, updating a subscriber's profile with the calling telephone number, and/or storing the calling telephone number in a subscriber's blocked call list. The call screening request may comprise a Dual-Tone Multi-Frequency, a softkey entry, and/or a data message.
