  • Publication number: 20230117005
Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a network node, information configuring an active bandwidth part (BWP) that does not include a bandwidth associated with one or more of a synchronization signal block (SSB) or a control resource set zero (CS0). The UE may perform, based at least in part on a radio frequency (RF) retune mode, an RF retune to a union bandwidth that covers the active BWP and the bandwidth associated with one or more of the SSB or the CS0. Numerous other aspects are described.

  • Patent number: 11632774
Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to an uplink transmission cancellation mechanism that determines processing time for UEs configured with mixed processing capabilities are described. Specifically, methods and systems are provided for a UE to determine which processing capability to rely on to determine the minimum processing time for cancellation. For example, when a UE is configured with a faster processing capability and a slower processing capability, the UE may be configured to always rely on the faster, or the slower processing capability. Alternatively, the UE may be configured to consider factors such as the uplink channel type, uplink channel priority, the cause of the cancellation, the priority of uplink grant, or any combination thereof, to determine whether to rely on the faster or the slower capability to obtain the minimum processing time for cancellation.

  • Publication number: 20230098652
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide for receive chain selection at a user equipment (UE) with efficient switching between a reduced number of receive chains and an increased number of receive chains for downlink communications based on conditions at the UE. A UE may adaptively adjust the number of active receive chains based on downlink grant activity, channel conditions, network parameters, or any combinations thereof. An estimator block at the UE may determine to adjust the number of receive chains based on a number of downlink grants within one or more time periods. In some cases, grants for an amount of data that exceeds a threshold may be qualified in order to be counted at the estimation block. Further, a transient state may be provided where the UE may maintain a higher number of active receive chains until UE feedback is provided.

  • Patent number: 11589348
Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a mobile station may receive an indication of whether a first physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) communication is to be punctured in a set of resources in which a second PDSCH communication at least partially overlaps with the first PDSCH communication, or both the first PDSCH communication and the second PDSCH communication are to be transmitted in the set of resources. The mobile station may decode the first PDSCH communication based at least in part on the indication. Numerous other aspects are provided.

  • Patent number: 11581982
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a base station may interrupt a user equipment (UE) during transport block (TB) encoding. The UE may cancel transmission (e.g., suppress processing) of a TB based on the interruption, such that a first subset of code blocks is encoded and a second subset is unencoded. In some cases, the UE may receive a re-transmission request for a code block including cyclic redundancy check (CRC) bits for the TB, where the CRC bits are not prepared. In one example, the UE may modify the CRC bits (e.g., set them to a common value, drop them, etc.) to reduce processing time. In another example, the base station may request re-transmission of all preempted code blocks, supporting TB CRC calculation. In another example, the base station or UE may extend a processing timeline for the re-transmission to support TB CRC calculation.

  • Patent number: 11558864
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications at a user equipment (UE) are described. Techniques are described herein for performing out-of-order processing. The UE may receive a first downlink channel at a first time and a second downlink channel at a second time. The UE may determine that a priority of the second downlink channel is different (e.g., higher) than a priority of the first downlink channel. The UE may determine that a first uplink transmission associated with the first downlink channel is to be transmitted after a second uplink transmission associated with the second channel based on the different priorities. The UE may set one or more operations based on these determinations. In some cases, the UE may suspend processing the of the first downlink channel to process the second downlink channel.

  • Patent number: 11490398
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a first downlink control information (DCI) at a first time, and may receive a second DCI at a second, later time. Each DCI may contain scheduling information for scheduling a number of transmissions at the UE. A transmission associated with the first DCI on a first cell may be scheduled to start before or during a transmission associated with the second DCI on a second cell. The UE may then determine priorities associated with the first and second cells. In cases where the priority of the second cell is greater than the priority of the first cell, the UE may transmit the second scheduled transmission before it transmits the first scheduled transmission. As a result, the UE may prioritize transmitting the second scheduled transmission before the first scheduled transmission.

  • Patent number: 11490410
Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, on a first carrier having a first subcarrier spacing (SCS), a scheduling indication via a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) scheduling a downlink transmission on a second carrier having a second SCS. The UE may process the downlink transmission on the second carrier based at least in part on a delay between the PDCCH and the scheduled downlink transmission and a timing threshold having a basic term and an adjustment term. For example, the basic term may be based at least in part on a minimum delay between the PDCCH and the scheduled downlink transmission, and the adjustment term may be based at least in part on a processing time due to a difference between the first SCS and the second SCS. Numerous other aspects are provided.

  • Patent number: 11477675
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A UE may identify a capability for downlink control channel monitoring and uplink cancellation indication monitoring. The UE may transmit, to a base station, an indication of the identified uplink cancellation indication monitoring capability. The base station may receive the indication from the UE, and may configure monitoring occasions in a slot based on the received uplink cancellation indication monitoring capability. The base station may transmit via radio resource control signaling, and the UE may receive, a configuration which configures a number of monitoring occasions based on the uplink cancellation indication monitoring capability. The UE may then monitor the configured monitoring occasions according to the identified capability.

  • Patent number: 11470480
Abstract: Techniques for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may initially configure a set of channel estimation parameters for a set of radio frequency spectrum subbands of a bandwidth part (BWP) of a transmission opportunity (TxOP). In some examples, the UE may identify an unavailable radio frequency spectrum subband within the BWP. Based on the identification, the UE may reconfigure the channel estimation parameters to avoid performing unnecessary channel estimation processes on the unavailable radio frequency spectrum subband. As part of reconfiguring the channel estimation parameters, the UE may set log-likelihood ratio (LLR) values of subcarriers associated with the unavailable radio frequency spectrum subband to a null value, thereby experiencing improvements in efficiency and reliability of channel estimation for the BWP.

  • Patent number: 11464004
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for efficiently limiting a number of blind decoding attempts or control channel elements (CCEs) that a user equipment (UE) is configured to monitor to limit complexity at the UE. When a UE is configured to use blind decoding for monitoring CCEs in multiple spans in a slot for control information from a base station, the UE may be configured to perform dropping of blind decoding candidates or CCEs in a first temporal span in the slot. In other words, the UE may identify a dropping rule to drop CCE monitoring occasions or blind decoding attempts in excess of a maximum number of non-overlapping CCEs per span or a maximum number of blind decoding attempts per span, respectively, and the UE may apply the dropping rule to the first temporal span within the slot.
