  • Patent number: 11970409
Abstract: Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are destroyed by oxidation in supercritical conditions. PFAS in water can be concentrated and prepared for destruction in a pretreatment phase. Following annihilation of the PFAS in supercritical conditions to levels below 5 parts per trillion (ppt), the water effluent can be used to recover heat, returned to sub-critical conditions, and then released back into the environment.

  • Patent number: 11897421
Abstract: Examples provide pre-configuration of emergency vehicle lockable device. A device manager obtains a unique identifier (UID) assigned to a lockable device, such as a multicolor lightbar or a siren device in an uninitialized state. The UID and pre-configuration parameters are received in a request to pre-configure a single device or a batch request to pre-configure a plurality of lockable devices. The device manager updates a lock status of a locked function from a locked state in which the lockable function is inoperable to a pre-unlocked state in accordance with the pre-configuration parameters. The device manager generates, and stores unlock code(s) to unlock the pre-configured lockable function. In response to receiving the UID of a lockable device during initialization, the unlock code(s) are automatically transmitted to a user device associated with the lockable device to unlock and enable the pre-unlocked function to operate in accordance with the pre-configuration parameters.

  • Patent number: 11858842
Abstract: Fiber bending mechanisms vary beam characteristics by deflecting or bending one or more fibers, by urging portions of one or more fibers toward a fiber shaping surface having a selectable curvature, or by selecting a fiber length that is to be urged toward the fiber shaping surface. In some examples, a fiber is secured to a flexible plate to conform to a variable curvature of the flexible plate. In other examples, a variable length of a fiber is pulled or pushed toward a fiber shaping surface, and the length of the fiber or a curvature of the flexible plate provide modification of fiber beam characteristics.

  • Patent number: 11827544
Abstract: A method of degrading 1,4-dioxane in the wastewater produced during the manufacture of alkyl ether sulfates is disclosed. The method includes the steps of (a) mixing from 100 to 10,000 ppm, preferably 1,000 to 4,000 ppm of ozone with the wastewater; (b) introducing H2O2 into the wastewater in an amount of 0.01 to 10, preferably 0.1 to 0.5 molar equivalents of H2O2 to ozone, and (c) mixing the ozone, H2O2, and wastewater to generate hydroxyl radicals reactive with the 1,4-dioxane, without the addition of a metal catalyst. The hydroxyl radicals react with the 1,4-dioxane and degrade it into carbon dioxide, water and/or carbonate. The method is effective to reduce a concentration of 1,4-dioxane in the wastewater from a range of about 10 ppm to about 1000 ppm of dioxane down to less than 5 ppb of 1,4-dioxane after treatment. The method is also effective for removing hydrocarbon species that may be present in the wastewater.

  • Patent number: 11760889
Abstract: Sulfate and sulfonate derivatives of unsaturated fatty alcohols, processes for making them, and methods of using them are disclosed. In one aspect, a monounsaturated fatty alcohol composition is made by reducing a metathesis-derived monounsaturated alkyl ester. The fatty alcohol composition is then converted to a sulfate or sulfonate derivative by one or more of alkoxylation, sulfation, sulfonation, and sulfitation. Of particular interest are the sulfate and ether sulfate derivatives. Microscopy studies indicate that the unsaturated sodium sulfates in particular have a lamellar phase that should enable formulation at high actives levels. Sulfate compositions comprising 40 to 60 wt. % of a monounsaturated fatty primary alcohol sulfate and 40 to 60 wt. % of a secondary hydroxyalkyl primary alcohol sulfate are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 11741735
Abstract: Techniques for automatically attaching optical character recognition data to images are provided. The techniques include receiving an image file containing an image and performing optical character recognition on the image to generate text output. The techniques then continue by identifying a particular text item from within the generated text output and determining that the particular text item is a value for particular corresponding key. Then metadata that indicates that the particular text item is a value for the particular key is stored in the image file.

  • Patent number: 11734713
Abstract: Described is a computer implemented method for determining provenance and identity of a digital advertising request for an advertisement solicited by at least one of a publisher and an intermediary representing the publisher. The method includes receiving, with a transceiver of a first computing device, a first message having first message metrics associated with a candidate entity for identification. The first message is processed, with a processor of the first computing device, to identify a first portion of a candidate entity identity based on the first message metrics. An output related to confidence of the candidate entity identity is produced, with the processor, based on the first portion of the candidate entity identity.
