  • Publication number: 20240312049
Abstract: Disclosed are systems, apparatus, and methods for object detection, and particularly drone or Unmanned Systems (UxS or UAV) detection and identification using polarized light, among other types of electromagnetic energy. The systems, apparatus, and methods may be implemented using at least two different operational modes. A first mode provides 360 degree passive detection, tracking, and UAV classification using stationary, non-rotating, thermal imagers with polarimetric sensors. A second mode provides for long range interrogation once an object of potential interest is detected using the first mode, for example. In aspects, the system may be configured to detect even to the level of small or miniature UAVs (e.g., Department of Defense UAV Group 1), classify those targets, track the objects moving across complex terrain, and determine whether those objects are biological or a drone of sufficient threat.

  • Publication number: 20190139378
Abstract: An exemplary communication or signaling system that includes an energy emission system that can include a control system, a fluid reservoir, fluid transfer structures, a fluid pumping system, an emission structure, an enclosure extending away from the fluid emission structure, a fluid recovery system, and a lens structure adapted to pass energy through the lens structure. The emission structure can include a porous structure and/or structure(s) with a number of fluid emission sections that generate one or more fluid structures such as droplets or other fluid shapes which increase or decrease fluid surface area on the fluid emission structure and thereby increase or decrease energy emissions or absorption on or in relation to the fluid emission structure. The control system can selectively modulate pressure/fluid transfer via the pump into the fluid transfer structures which alter energy emission or absorption that can be detected at a distance.

  • Patent number: 9341837
Abstract: An optical viewing apparatus may include an objective lens assembly and an one eye piece assembly connected to the objective lens assembly. The optical viewing apparatus may exhibit a field of view in the range of between 40° and, preferably beyond 80°, and an eye-relief of at least 15 mm, and the optical viewing apparatus may exhibit a foveated image for at least one field of view (FOV) wherein the optical on-axis resolution decays toward the periphery of the field of view.
