Patent number: 11613331Abstract: This disclosure extends to systems, apparatus, and methods for sports board hydrofoil masts and mast-to-fuselage connection assemblies for hydrofoil sports boards. In one exemplary system, a hydrofoil mast formed as an elongated member may include a securing structure disposed in a lower region and a fuselage may include a recess into which the mast is inserted. A securing assembly may be disposed in the fuselage for actuation to secure the mast to the fuselage by interacting with the securing structure on the mast. The securing assembly may include a cam member or locking member and an actuating member. Unique hydrofoil masts constructed from composite materials having reinforcing metal members are disclosed and may be useful in the connection assemblies.Type: GrantFiled: March 5, 2021Date of Patent: March 28, 2023Assignee: Bi-Thermal Aspen Earth, L.L.C.Inventors: Tyler Lyon, Aaron Best

Patent number: 11608146Abstract: This disclosure extends to systems, apparatus, and methods for quick release mast mounting assemblies for board mounted hydrofoil assemblies. In one exemplary system, a quick release mounting assembly may include board mountable base receiver for mounting to a sports board, which defines a longitudinal receiving recess. A resilient locking member is disposed at a front end of the base receiver. A separate mast connection member formed as a body configured for connection to an upper end of a hydrofoil mast, corresponds to the longitudinal receiving recess, and includes a counterpart structure for forming a secure connection with the resilient locking member. The mast connection member may include opposite shoulder or wing members that extend laterally orthogonal to the longitudinal axis thereof and the receiving recess may include counterpart slots for receiving these members. The resilient locking member may include a separate spring assembly or be a unitary member.Type: GrantFiled: March 5, 2021Date of Patent: March 21, 2023Assignee: Bi-Thermal Aspen Earth, L.L.C.Inventors: Tyler Lyon, Aaron Best

Publication number: 20220281558Abstract: This disclosure extends to systems, apparatus, and methods for hydrofoil assemblies with components that may be constructed from multiple materials to achieve reduced weight and/or portion with relatively less rigidity. In one exemplary system, a planing blade has as underlying framework or first structural body including rib elements that define voids. The first structural body may be formed from a relatively stiff and rigid first material to provide strength and rigidity to the component. The voids are filled and at least a portion of the framework covered by a second relatively softer and more flexible material. The second material may cover one or more edges of the planning blade. In some embodiments, a mast member may have a structural member formed from a relatively stiff and rigid first material with at least a portion of the member covered by a second relatively softer and more flexible material.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 7, 2022Publication date: September 8, 2022Applicant: BI-THERMAL ASPEN EARTH, L.L.C.Inventors: Tyler Lyon, Aaron Best

Patent number: 10983814Abstract: Embodiments of this invention relate to theater seating, and more particularly to theater seating comprising a user interface that can be used to control various elements of the seat, and allow the user to select the language in which media is presented (i.e., systems and methods for providing language selection technology through interface with cinema servers). Embodiments of this system comprise a touchscreen user interface, a processing and IO circuit board, and a head phone audio jack. In some embodiments the touchscreen user interface comprises a menu selectable device. In some embodiments the menus show various controllable features selected from a list comprising: multiple language outputs with volume controls, position control for the seat back recline and foot elevation, potentially a seat temperature control with heat and cooling, and even potentially a customer rewards number input device capable of theater concessions ordering.Type: GrantFiled: March 16, 2018Date of Patent: April 20, 2021Inventors: David J. Havell, Ken Barton, Aaron Best, Alex Ferro, Tim Hayford

Patent number: 10627357Abstract: Patch-clamp amplifiers that may be readily manufactured, may be simple to reconfigure for product updates, and can be quickly reconfigured into a different mode during operation. One example may provide patch-clamp amplifiers that may be readily manufactured by implementing some or all of the compensation and other circuits using digital circuitry. These digital circuits may be implemented using discrete or integrated logic circuits, programmable logic such as field-programmable gate arrays or programmable logic arrays, or other fixed or configurable logic circuits or combination thereof. These programmable logic circuits may be reconfigured by a user or by a manufacturer through firmware or software updates when a product update is desired. These circuits may also be quickly reconfigured to allow rapid switching between modes during use.Type: GrantFiled: November 8, 2018Date of Patent: April 21, 2020Assignee: Sutter Instrument CompanyInventors: Rich Lobdill, Aaron Best, Greg Hjelmstad
