    Abstract: A connector-less apparatus to sense voltage for electrical safety devices includes a first termination for a first voltage sense lead wire and a second termination for a second voltage sense lead wire. The apparatus includes an opening for receiving a source conductor. The apparatus is configured such that the first voltage sense lead wire contacts the source conductor at a first position along the source conductor and the second voltage sense lead wire contacts the source conductor at a second position along the source conductor, the first position spaced apart from the second position such that current flows along the source conductor between the first voltage sense lead and the second voltage sense lead when electrical energy is present on the source conductor.

The second hinge portion includes an elongated member for fitting generally within the c-shape and a plurality of alternating cutouts positioned along the elongated member. The assembly is assembled by positioning the cover parallel to the cover receiving frame and rotating the cover until it is captive.
