  • Publication number: 20220005987
Abstract: Solid-state lighting devices including light-emitting diodes (LEDs) and lens arrangements for packaged LED devices are disclosed. An LED package may include one or more LED chips on a submount with a lens positioned on the submount to form a cavity. The one or more LED chips may reside in the cavity without direct encapsulation materials that would otherwise contact the one or more LED chips and any corresponding wirebonds. In this manner, the one or more LED chips may be driven with higher drive currents while reducing degradation and mechanical strain effects related to differences in coefficients of thermal expansion with typical encapsulant materials. LED packages may also be configured with one or more apertures that allow air flow between an interior volume of a cavity and an ambient environment outside the LED package to promote heat dissipation at higher drive currents.

  • Patent number: 11087267
Abstract: A modular vehicle system includes a plurality of vehicle modules with at least one autonomous vehicle module. A request from a user located at a user location specifies a plurality of the vehicle modules. The user location is specified, and a module location is determined for each of the specified vehicle modules. Based on the request, the specified modules are retrieved from the module locations, and assembled into a configured vehicle. The configured vehicle is located at a dispatch location. The configured vehicle is then dispatched from the dispatch location to the user location.

  • Patent number: 10942520
Abstract: A method for using an autonomous vehicle includes receiving one or more user preferences for use of the autonomous vehicle. A destination is received for a trip using the autonomous vehicle. An arrival time is received for when the trip needs to be completed. A determination is made as to whether the user preferences includes a preference for physical activity for the trip. One or more routes are provided for the trip to the destination that permits the trip to be completed by the arrival time and that implements at least one of the user preferences. At least one of the routes comprises a hybrid route including one segment in which a physical activity selected by the user is suggested for traversing a distance of the one segment and another segment using the autonomous vehicle.

  • Patent number: 10664915
Abstract: Purchasing, maintaining, and deriving revenue from mobile autonomous units is facilitated by providing a mobile autonomous unit marketplace in which equity shares in mobile autonomous units can be bought, sold and traded. Valuation of mobile autonomous units within the marketplace can be a function of a variety of factors such as the mobile autonomous unit's primary geographic region, and the number, diversity, and time management of revenue streams available to the mobile autonomous units.

  • Patent number: 10447776
Abstract: A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, initializing a boundary estimate for an optimization of a linear programming model describing a network of media servers for servicing requests for media content items from subscriber devices, where the boundary estimate is an estimate of an infeasible solution of the linear programming model, and calculating iteratively, using an exponential potential function, additional boundary estimates for the linear programming model, wherein the calculating resolves to an improved boundary estimate that corresponds to placement of copies of the media content items at the media servers subject to a set of constraints on storage capacity of media servers and on bandwidth for communication links in the network. Other embodiments are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 10127056
Abstract: A system to automate creation of a configuration wizard from, for example, an underlying control application. In one instance, a complex application may be represented with a simple configuration view such as that of a configuration wizard. When an application is being created, a user may be provided with a feature that defines the configuration wizard. Some aspects of the present approach are that a wizard user interface may be automatically generated, a standard approach may be provided to define the wizard, and, for changes which are performed in the application, the wizard may easily be edited and regenerated.
