    Abstract: A device for monitoring respiration by a user determines whether sound represented by audio data corresponds to an exhalation. For example, the device receives audio data representing sound, determines a frequency spectrum for the audio data (e.g., amplitude distributions of one or more frequencies, etc.), and identifies various frequency bands of interest. Here, the device identifies a first frequency band corresponding to respiration, a second frequency band corresponding to noise, and a third frequency band corresponding to voice harmonics. The device applies a gain to the first frequency band to create an amplified first frequency band, filters or nulls the second frequency band, and inverts the third frequency band to create an inverted third frequency band. The device determines the frequency spectrum corresponds to an exhalation based on a slope value over the amplitude distributions of the amplified first frequency band and the inverted third frequency band.

    Abstract: System and methods for synchronizing data and media with third party websites and marketing materials are disclosed herein. In an embodiment, a form receives data from a client and determines at least two destinations. A central server receives and modifies the data for each destination in such a manner as to ensure compatibility. For each destination, the central server authenticates the client on a local system, authenticates the central server with third party sites via an emulator, sends the data received from the form in a compatible format, and receives a status update from each destination. The central server provides the client with a status for each destination.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a system and method for stopping equipment. The system is an automatic dynamic braking system using color recognition. The automatic braking system comprises a color recognition sensor coupled to a control system. In use, the control system is operably connected to potentially hazardous equipment. The color recognition sensor recognizes a marker worn by an operator, for example, an article of clothing of a predetermined color. When the marker enters a predetermined recognition zone relative to the equipment, the system responds to the event with shut-down procedures. The equipment may be an electric or automatic saw, with the recognition zone being defined relative to a rotating saw blade.

    Abstract: A file directory structure generator and retrieval tool for use in a computer network is disclosed. The computer network comprises an output device, a local memory, a shared memory, and a local processor operating according to an operating system program and an application program. The local memory and the shared memory store files in a directory structure. Each file and level in the directory structure has network access privileges. The file directory structure generator and retrieval tool has a document locator module that maps the directory structure of the files stored in the memory to a real world hierarchical file structure of files and directories independent of conventions of the operating system. The document locator module can also change the network access privileges for files and directories without exiting the application program.
