Abstract: A detachable string trimmer assembly for a lawnmower includes a trimmer head; a shaft assembly; a lockable joint attached to the trimmer head and the shaft assembly, the shaft assembly adjustable between a first position at which the trimmer head is coaxial with an axis along the shaft assembly and a second position at which the trimmer head is angled with respect the axis along the shaft; a first mount attached to the shaft assembly to removably attach the detachable string trimmer assembly to the lawnmower; a second mount attached to the shaft assembly to removably attach the detachable string trimmer assembly to the lawnmower; a handle assembly attached to the shaft assembly to selectively operate the trimmer head; and a remote assembly mountable to the lawnmower to selectively operate the trimmer head.

Abstract: The present application discloses an integrated trimmer device that is attached to the existing wheel fixture of a lawnmower. The integrated trimmer device may be used as a string trimmer or as a lawn edger. There is an ongoing desire by those in the art to increase the efficiency of mowing and trimming activities. Combining the two activities into one task helps provide for such need.
