  • Patent number: 10952890
Abstract: An adhesive flange extender for an ostomy flange comprises a flexible arcuate membrane having a radial inner edge, a radial outer edge, and an adhesive surface for securing the membrane simultaneously to the skin of an ostomate and to an ostomy flange. The membrane includes at least two independently movable tab portions at the radial outer edge of the membrane. The membrane further includes a central region and a border region that is thinner than the central region to provide increased flexibility at the periphery of the flange extender.

  • Patent number: 10420671
Abstract: An ostomy pouch assembly (1) comprises a receptacle (2) for receiving material from a stoma of a person, and a mounting plate (4) for securing the receptacle to a person's body. The mounting plate includes a first layer (10) with an outer surface that is configured to be bonded to a person's skin and an inner surface. An intermediate layer (12) is located between the inner surface of the first layer (10) and the receptacle (2). A stress displacement or bonding layer (16) is located between the intermediate layer (12) and the receptacle (2) for bonding the mounting plate (4) to the receptacle (2). The region of bonding securement between the bonding layer (16) and the intermediate layer (12) has a first peripheral edge (20), and the region of bonding securement between the bonding layer and the receptacle has a second peripheral edge (26) that is located inwardly of the first peripheral edge (20).

  • Publication number: 20080243098
Abstract: A medical access port (10) has a base (12) and a lid (14). The base (12) has an adhesive layer (26) which may be exposed by pulling a peel layer (28). The port may be then stuck onto a bag (54) and an access aperture (34) may be enlarged, if desired, by cutting through a mounting substrate of the port (10) and a substrate (58) of the bag. The lid (14) may be opened and closed as desired and the access port may be located in the most suitable configuration for the particular use application concerned.

  • Publication number: 20070274815
Abstract: Apparatus for deblistering a pharmaceutical blister pack having a number of product blisters and a lidding material thereover is described. The apparatus comprises a pack holding means (10) adapted to hold the blister pack and means to transfer the pack into and out of alignment with an operating position, the operating position having a lidding material cutting means (4) and a blister punching means (6) on opposing sides thereof. The present invention provides a simple apparatus having few moving parts for deblistering of a blister pack. Only the pack holding means (10) requires significant movement into and out of alignment with the cutting means (4) and punching means (6), each of which requires little movement in themselves to provide their effect.

  • Patent number: 6652215
Abstract: A rotary deblistering apparatus is described. It comprises a rotatable drum having plurality of circumferential pack holding means each adapted to hold and retain a blister pack. The drum can rotate to locate the pack holding means at a plurality of peripheral work positions including a pack loading position, a pack deblistering position, and a pack detachment position. The blister packs can be loaded onto the drum through a loading means, preferably the loading means has a storage magazine able to supply a continuous number of packs to the drum. For a peelable pack, prior weakening or cutting of the backing of the pack may be necessary or desired. Such action could be carried out at the pack deblistering position. Alternatively, there is a prior weakening and/or cutting position around the drum.
