Abstract: A computer-implemented tracking method and system that accesses images of a three-dimensional space captured by a stereo camera is presented. The method generates a three-dimensional computer model of the space, generates a two-dimensional semantic map of the space based on the three-dimensional computer model, receives user criteria via a user interface that includes a presentation of a room map, and extracts visitor tracks in the space of interest from the images and determining if the user criteria is fulfilled. The method and system generates statistics pertaining to behavior or users in a space, such as a museum or a store.
