  • Publication number: 20180097883
Abstract: The disclosed embodiments include computer-implemented systems and processes that perform operations consistent with services provisioned to a device based on real-time sensor data indicative of and characterizing a user's operation of the device and additionally or alternatively, a system or apparatus that includes the device. For example, the device may obtain stored data identifying a provisioned service, and may obtain sensor data captured by an on-board or external sensor during an operation of the device. Based on the sensor data, the device may generate a usage parameter that characterizes the operation of the device during a temporal period, and perform an operation consistent with the provisioned service in accordance with the generated usage parameter.

  • Publication number: 20180089645
Abstract: An apparatus for use in a digital asset tracking system includes a storage device and a processor coupled to the storage device. The storage device stores software instructions for controlling the processor that when executed by the processor configure the processor to receive a signal representing a request comprising a first transfer from a first digital container associated with a first client to a second digital container associated with a second client. A value of the first transfer is compared to a total value in one or more accounts associated with the first client. At least one of the one or more accounts associated with the first client has a value in a first currency. A first draft is generated from a first account to an account associated with the second client. The first draft comprises a value in a second currency equivalent to the value of the first transfer.

  • Publication number: 20180089641
Abstract: A system comprises a non-transitory machine readable storage medium storing instructions and a database identifying a plurality of assets and a state of each asset. The instructions configure a processor for receiving updates to a distributed electronic ledger managed by plural peer processors. Each update includes an event or change affecting one of the assets. The peer processors verify portions of the ledger describing each event or change. At least one of the updates has not yet been recorded in the ledger at a time of the receiving. The processor computes a state of each asset, based on the updates, receives a request for a state of one of the assets; and responds to the request, reflecting each event and change affecting that asset. The response is performed without waiting for the peer processors to verify an update that has not yet been recorded in the ledger.

  • Publication number: 20180091506
Abstract: The disclosed embodiments include computerized methods and systems that automatically provision one or more services available to an Internet-of-Things (IoT) devices upon connection to and registration onto communications network. In one aspect, a device may receive, from a computing system, data specifying one or more first services provisioned to the device. The device may identify a subset of the first services that are consistent with a device type of an additional device, and may transmit a portion of the stored first data that specifies the subset of the first services to that additional device. The additional device may process the transmitted portion to provision the subset of the first services to the additional device prior to a successful authentication.

  • Publication number: 20180068130
Abstract: An apparatus maintains a segregated database in a multiple distributed ledger system. The apparatus includes a storage device that stores software instructions for controlling a processor that when executed by the processor configure the processor to: create distributed ledgers, each created distributed ledger being associated with a respective individual profile; maintain a segregated database apart from the distributed ledgers including, for each individual profile, profile balance data; and process a data exchange between exchanging profiles.

  • Patent number: 9903100
Abstract: An excavation system is disclosed as having first and second actuators configured to move a work tool in first and second directions. The second actuator may only be capable of full-range movement when the first actuator is positioned within a sub-range. The excavation system may also have first and second sensors configured to generate first and second signals indicative of first and second actuator movements, and a controller in communication with the first and second sensors. The controller may be configured to command movement of the first actuator to the sub-range, to confirm that the first actuator has moved to the sub-range based on the first signal, to command movement of the second actuator to an end-of-stroke position after the first actuator is confirmed to be within the sub-range, and to selectively record a current position of the second actuator as the end-of-stroke position based on the second signal.

  • Patent number: 9882833
Abstract: Novel tools and techniques might provide for implementing intent-based network services orchestration. In some embodiments, a computing system might receive, over a network, a request for network services from a customer. The request for network services might include desired performance parameters for the requested network services, without information regarding any of specific hardware, specific hardware type, specific location, or specific network for providing the requested network services. The computing system might allocate network resources from one or more networks, based at least in part on the desired performance parameters. Based on a determination that at least one network can no longer provide at least one network resource having the desired performance parameters, the computing system might allocate at least one other network resource from at least one second network, based at least in part on network performance metrics, and based at least in part on the desired performance parameters.

  • Patent number: 9850639
Abstract: An excavation system is disclosed for a machine having a work tool. The excavation system may have at least one sensor to generate a signal indicative of a load exerted on the work tool. The excavation system may also have a lift actuator and a tilt actuator. The excavation system may also have a controller configured to detect engagement of the work tool with a material pile based the signal. The controller may operate the work tool to load the work tool with an amount of material. The controller may determine whether loading of the work tool has been completed. The controller may lift the work tool when the loading has been completed. The controller may also operate the tilt actuator to shake the work tool. Additionally, the controller may cause the machine to withdraw from the material pile after shaking the work tool.

  • Patent number: 9827343
Abstract: A scent dispenser may comprise a vial retaining mechanism, a heating element, vial sensor, and a controller. The vial retaining mechanism includes a vial coupling that removeably retains a vial containing a scented solution. The includes a wick extending from a cavity of the vial through an opening of a neck of the vial. The heating element is shaped to receive and heat the wick of the vial. The vial sensor includes an array of sensor pads that are arranged in alignment with the vial retained by the vial coupling. The controller is electrically coupled to the heating element and electrically coupled to the array of sensor pads. • Publication number: 20170251893
Abstract: A toilet modernizer is provided for allowing touchless manipulation of a toilet seat and lid by a user. An outer housing that is attachable under the toilet lid contains the other components of the device in one simple module. As part of the module, a latching member actuated by a user-manipulated actuator element selectively latches and unlatches the seat and lid, so that the user can select to lift the two elements as a unit or to lift only the lid, all the while without having to touch any part of the toilet. In an embodiment a lighting element is included, and in a further embodiment, a scent spray module is also included in the module.
