  • Patent number: 11434821
Abstract: A combustion liner or component produced through the use of additive manufacturing techniques. The combustion liner or other component may be formed having a feature based optimized cooling circuit at least partially embedded in the thickness of the material. The internal cooling circuit, may be used, along with other benefits, to control the temperature of the component and prevent hot-spots and uneven heat distribution across the surface of the component.

    Assignee: General Electric Company
    Inventor: Aaron Joseph Wertz
  • Patent number: 11255313
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a gearbox assembly for a wind turbine. The gearbox assembly has a maximal installed width and a maximal transport width. The maximal installed width is greater than the maximal transport width. The gearbox assembly includes at least one torque arm coupled to opposing sides of the gearbox housing. Each of the torque arms includes a proximal end and a distal end. The proximal ends are removably coupled to the exterior surface of the gearbox such that the distance between the distal ends define the maximal installed width. The torque arms are coupled to at least one support element and to a bedplate of the wind turbine.

  • Patent number: 10808684
Abstract: A nacelle for a wind turbine includes a housing defining an outer wall and a heat transfer assembly embedded at least partially within the outer wall of the housing. The heat transfer assembly includes a heat transfer apparatus having a body with a flow path formed in an outer surface thereof and a working fluid configured to flow through the flow path. The heat transfer apparatus also includes a plate member arranged adjacent to the flow path of the body. As such, the plate member and the outer wall of the housing of the nacelle are configured to conduct heat from the working fluid to ambient air.

  • Patent number: 10330174
Abstract: A carrier and at least one pin shaft of a gearbox of a wind turbine and method of manufacturing same includes forming the carrier and the pin shaft(s) as a single part or separate components. Further, the method includes forming one or more voids in the pin shaft(s) and/or the carrier via additive manufacturing. As such, the void(s) is configured to increase flexibility of the pin shaft(s)/carrier so as to improve a load distribution thereof.
