  • Patent number: 8959357
Abstract: A system, method and program product for generating a private key. A system is disclosed that includes a signal acquisition system for obtaining biometric input from a user and encoding the biometric input into an acquired biometric; a recognition system for determining an identity based on the acquired biometric and outputting an absolute biometric associated with the identity; an input device for accepting a knowledge input from the user; and a key generator that generates a private key based on the knowledge input and the absolute biometric.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 15, 2010
Date of Patent: February 17, 2015
    Assignee: International Business Machines Corporation
    Inventor: Aaron Keith Baughman
  • Patent number: 8718824
Abstract: A system, method and program product for enhancing individualized and safe food production using an iterative co-evolutionary approach. A system is disclosed that includes a production system for generating a set of end products based on an inputted set of host chromosomes and a parasite chromosome (which may include machine/human contaminants); an evaluation system for evaluating each end product; an evolution system for generating a set of evolved host chromosomes and an updated parasite chromosome; and a mechanism for generating a further set of end products based on the evolved host chromosomes and the updated parasite chromosome.

Date of Patent: May 6, 2014
    Assignee: International Business Machines Corporation
Inventors: Aaron Keith Baughman, Peter K. Malkin, Arnold Greenland
  • Patent number: 8190539
Abstract: An evolutionary feature selection system and method that determines a feature space for a dataset. A system is disclosed that includes: a system for generating a plurality of chromosomes; an agglomerative K-means clustering system for clustering data into clusters, wherein each of the cluster spaces is associated with a different one of the chromosomes; a linear discriminant analysis system for scoring each of the cluster spaces; and an evolutionary mating system that genetically mutates and mates at least two of the chromosomes associated with the highest scoring cluster spaces, and generates a final chromosome. The final chromosome can thereafter be used to define a feature space in a matching system that attempts to match inputted biometric data with entries in a biometric dataset.

Date of Patent: May 29, 2012
    Assignee: International Business Machines Corporation
