  • Patent number: 9265678
Abstract: A patient enclosure, comprised of at least two spaced-apart side walls, a top wall, and a front wall, the side walls, the top wall, and the front wall defining a predetermined area surrounding a location where a patient is positionable. At least one of the walls has a panel of electrochromic glass that is switchable between a clear state, an opaque state and a reflective (mirrored) state. UV radiators are provided within the area of the enclosure. An air circulation system is provided for circulating air through the area defined by the enclosure. A controller controls the UV radiators and the air circulation system. The controller is programmed to create one of a higher pressure or a lower pressure within the area as compared to the environment surrounding the enclosure.

  • Patent number: 8741228
Abstract: The present invention provides an apparatus for decontaminating a region. The apparatus includes a housing that defines a chamber therein. The housing has an inlet and an outlet that communicate with the chamber. A blower circulates a carrier gas from the region, through the inlet of the housing, through the chamber and out through the outlet of the housing. An atomizer introduces an atomized mist of a fluid into the carrier gas circulated through the chamber. A diffuser is disposed relative to the outlet of the chamber for redirecting said carrier gas exiting said outlet of said chamber into a predetermined direction. The diffuser includes a heating element.

  • Patent number: 8668881
Abstract: A decontamination enclosure, comprised of a plurality of preformed panels joined together to form a structure defining a totally enclosed chamber. A door is formed in at least one of the panels, the door being movable between an opened position and a closed position to allow access to the chamber. A circulation system is attached to the structure for circulating vaporized hydrogen peroxide through the chamber. A controller is provided for controlling the amount of vaporized hydrogen peroxide introduced into the chamber.

  • Patent number: 6027311
Abstract: An apparatus for supplying compressed air to air operated elements of a locomotive includes an air compressor, an aftercooler coupled for receiving compressed air from the compressor, a cooling fan for blowing ambient air onto the aftercooler for reducing the temperature of the compressed air, whereby moisture in the compressed air forms condensation which is discharged from the compressor during normal operation of the aftercooler. A bypass system shunts the compressed air from the compressor around the aftercooler when the condensation freezes in the aftercooler passages and blocks normal air flow. The bypass system includes an orifice of a size selected to create a pressure drop which is greater than a pressure drop across the aftercooler when air flow through the aftercooler is not inhibited by blockage whereby air flow from the compressor normally passes through the aftercooler and bypasses the bypass system.
