  • Patent number: 10995931
Abstract: The disclosed lighting apparatus has a light-diffusive panel having opposing first and second faces bounded by one or more sides and having one or more channels extending inward from one of the one or more sides. A first conductor is disposed on the first face of the light-diffusive panel and is proximate a first side. The first conductor has a concave section disposed within a channel of the one or more channels. A second conductor is disposed on the second face of the light-diffusive panel and is proximate the first side. The second conductor has a concave section disposed within a channel. Solid-state lighting (SSL) elements have light emitting portions that face a second side that is adjacent to the first side of the light-diffusive panel, and the SSL elements are electrically coupled to the first conductor and to the second conductor.

  • Patent number: 10317614
Abstract: A disclosed lighting apparatus includes a flex-circuit, a frame, and a light-diffusive panel. The flex-circuit includes a power bus having first and second portion of opposite polarity disposed parallel to outer edges of the flex-circuit, and solid-state lighting (SSL) elements disposed and connected between the portions of the power bus. A first side of the frame includes a first surface to which a portion of the flex-circuit having the first portion of the power bus is attached, a second surface to which a portion of the flex-circuit having the SSL elements is attached, and a third surface to which a portion of the flex-circuit having the second portion of the power bus is attached. A face of the light-diffusive panel abuts the first surface of the frame, and side of the light-diffusive panel faces the second surface of the frame and light emitting portions of the SSL elements.

  • Patent number: 6546176
Abstract: An optical fiber cable core includes a buffer tube containing at least one optical fiber and reinforced by at least two substantially radially incompressible longitudinal strength members, each strength member having surface portions radially outermost with respect to the tube axis which are at or protrude from the exterior surface of the buffer tube. If the strength members protrude from the exterior surface of the buffer tube, less than 50%, and preferably less than 20%, of the outer surface of the strength members protrudes from the exterior surface of the buffer tube. The positions of the strength members can be readily determined, can be visible and can be easily removed from the buffer tube prior to slitting the buffer tube to achieve midspan access.

  • Patent number: 5905834
Abstract: An optical fiber cable comprises a central tube containing at least one optical fiber, a plurality of outer tubes, each containing at least one optical fiber, and at least two strength members, wherein the outer tubes and strength members are disposed around and in contact with the central tube, the strength members being between intermediate pairs of outer tubes. Preferably, a cord is wound around the outer tubes and strength members to hold them against the outer tube. Preferably, the optical fiber in the central tube is part of an optical fiber ribbon. Preferably, a plurality of individual optical fibers are provided in the outer tubes. The optical fibers are loosely contained within the central and outer tubes. One or several additional tubes containing insulated copper pairs or a coaxial cable may also be provided. Preferably, the cable tubes and the strength members are disposed in a reverse oscillating lay or S-Z fashion around the central tube.
