    Abstract: The security arrangement prevents unauthorized removal of the push button lock arrangement from a door on which it is installed. The door has an inner surface and an outer surface and the push button lock arrangement includes a first housing for mounting on the inner surface and a second housing for mounting on the outer surface. A first cover plate is removably mounted on the first housing adjacent the inner surface of the door, and a second cover plate is mounted on the second housing adjacent the outer surface of the door. The security arrangement consists of co-operating elements mounted on the first cover plate and the second cover plate.

    Abstract: The push-button lock arrangement includes a permutation chamber, and, in accordance with the invention, the combination of the permutation chamber can be changed without dismantling the lock arrangement and without the use of special tools. A cam, which is rotated by a simple screwdriver, activates the end of the lock-out slide of the permutation chamber to put the permutation chamber in its reset mode. The lock arrangement also includes a rotating stop member and a stationary stopper. The rotating stop member is connected to the outside door knob so that the rotation of the outside door knob is constrained to a predetermined angle of rotation.

    Abstract: A permutation lock chamber has a chamber shaft extending therethrough which is held against rotation when the chamber is in a locked condition and which is rotatable when the chamber is in an unlocked condition. The chamber shaft is connected to the shaft of an outer door handle through a clutch. When the chamber is in its unlock condition and the outer door handle is rotated, the clutch engages and the chamber shaft rotates with the outer door handle shaft. When the chamber is in its locked condition and the outer door handle is rotated, the clutch slips to permit rotation of the outer door handle shaft without rotation of the chamber shaft.

    Abstract: A clutch system for use in the door locking arrangement has a drive member. A latch acutating member and a permutation lock reset member are disposed on either side of the drive member. The drive member is operatively connected to the actuating means, for example a door knob or a lever handle, so that the drive member drives the latch actuating member, to retract the latch member of the door locking arrangement, when a correct combination has been inserted into the permutation lock of the door locking arrangement. When an incorrect combination has been inserted, the drive member drives the permutation lock reset member to reset the permutation lock. A linkage operatively connects both the latch operating member and the permutation lock reset member to the control shaft of the permutation lock.

    Abstract: An actuator assembly having a clutch mechanism with an input disc and an output disc. Mechanisms are provided for rotating the input disc and preventing rotation of the output disc with the input disc when the assembly is in a rest condition, and for effecting a rotation transmitting connection between the input disc and the output disc when the assembly is in an actuated condition. A mechanism is also provided for automatically returning the assembly from the actuated condition to the rest condition: (1) if the first input disc is rotated within a given time delay, upon the rotation; or (2) if the first disc is not rotated within the given time delay, upon the expiration of the time delay. Thus, the second output disc can be rotated only once within the time delay, and the second disc is not rotatable at all if the first disc is not rotated within the time delay.

    Abstract: A padlock comprising a body having a pair of parallel bores therein adapted to receive the legs of a shackle, and a shackle having a pair of parallel legs slidably received in said bores. A locking means is positioned within the padlock body to secure the shackle in the body when the legs are depressed into the bores. An interchangeable means, such as a standard cylinder lock, is provided for releasing the locking means and includes key-operated means operable by turning movement of a key to effect the release of the shackle from the locking means to allow one of the shackle legs to withdraw from the padlock body. The padlock body has an opening to receive the interchangeable means to permit positioning the interchangeable means within the padlock body. Detachable cover means adapted to close the opening is provided. Fastener means, such as a screw member, operable from within the body, is engageable in fastening relation with the cover means.
