  • Publication number: 20240346840
Abstract: A method for detecting a homoglyph in an input text includes receiving a first string of characters and deobfuscating the first string of characters to generate a second string of characters. When at least one character from the first string of characters has replaced another character in the second string of characters based on the deobfuscating, the method further includes determining a visual similarity value based on the first string of characters and the second string of characters and providing an indication whether a homoglyph is present in the first string of characters, based on the visual similarity value.

  • Publication number: 20240202157
Abstract: The attachment of a pluggable hardware module to a server via a slot on an enclosure of the server is detected. In response to determining, using metadata stored at the server, that the module is in a group of approved modules, a first security artifact is obtained from the module. In response to validating the first security artifact using a second security artifact which is part of the metadata, a program running within a virtual machine launched at the server is enabled to access application data of an application from the module.

  • Patent number: 11991170
Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments providing user authentication through registered device communications. An authentication request is received from a client device. A user is authenticated for access to a user account based at least in part on the client device providing the authentication token. The authentication token is generated by the client device or by one or more other computing devices and sent to the client device. The client device encrypts the authentication token based at least in part on a user authenticating factor and stores the encrypted authentication token on the client device.

  • Patent number: 11105306
Abstract: A pump includes a pump body having an admission valve movable therein to alternately block and unblock a valve seat to connect a low pressure space to a pumping chamber. A control valve is positioned fluidly between a control chamber and the low pressure space, and moves between a closed position where the control chamber receives high pressure for hydraulically actuating the admission valve, and an open position where the control chamber is connected to the low pressure space to enable closing of the admission valve. The pilot actuation of the admission valve produces a greater travel distance and efficiency than what might be available with certain other actuating mechanisms.

  • Patent number: 11057375
Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments providing user authentication through registered device communications. An authentication token is generated for a user account. The authentication token is embedded within a digital content item. The digital content item is sent to a first client device that is registered to the user account. A user is authenticated for access to the user account based at least in part on the user providing the authentication token embedded within the digital content item.

  • Patent number: 10941742
Abstract: An engine head assembly includes a plurality of fuel injectors each positioned within a fuel injector bore in the engine head, and each being fluidly coupled with a fluid conduit. Each fuel injector includes a valve assembly positioned within a fuel injector case that includes an elongate body having an opening. A filter sleeve having a particle-blocking perforation array structured to block particles is press fit on the fuel injector case to form a fluid flow path from the fluid conduit into the fuel injector case.

  • Patent number: 10943067
Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for detecting homograph attacks using text recognition. A first string of untrusted text is received. A second string is determined corresponding to what the first string of untrusted text appears to be in a particular language. The second string is determined to differ from the first string of untrusted text. One or more actions are implemented in response to determining that the second string differs from the first string of untrusted text.

  • Patent number: 10834253
Abstract: A server may assign a temporary phone number and an extension number to a shipment. The temporary phone number may be based on a geographic location of where the shipment is to be delivered. The extension number is associated with the shipment. The temporary phone number and extension number may be included on a shipping label rather than the user's phone number. During the delivery of the shipment, a delivery person may encounter a delivery issue, such as needing directions. The delivery person may call the temporary phone number and extension number and be connected to a user device. The delivery person may communicate the delivery issue, such as asking for directions to the user's residence. Upon delivery of the shipment, the server disassociates the temporary phone number and the extension number from the shipment.

  • Patent number: 10810106
Abstract: A security and maturity service is provided to generate a security score for an application. A set of data points are obtained, the data points indicating application information for an application. The data points may be associated with a particular axis of a plurality of axes defined by a scoring model. Furthermore, the scoring model may define a score for each axes based at least in part on the data points. A security score for the application may then be determined based at least in part on the score for the plurality of axes.

  • Patent number: 10795547
Abstract: A browser or browser component queues touch events on a user device while an associated network page is being rendered. The browser may store a detected touch event, a location of the touch event, and/or a vector associated with the touch event in a touch events queue implemented by a data repository. The browser may also visually indicate that the touch event has been registered. Once the network page is at least partially interactive, the browser may retrieve the touch event information from the touch events queue and apply the touch event. Prior to or after applying the touch event, the visual indicator that alerts the user that the touch event was registered may be removed. The browser may then re-render and display the network page after the touch event has been applied.

  • Patent number: 10659235
Abstract: A system sends a request for access to a resource and receives a digital certificate in response to the request. The system simultaneously causes one or more computing devices located in different geographical locations to send a plurality of requests to also access the resource. In response to the plurality of requests, digital certificates are received. The digital certificate is then compared to the plurality of digital certificates received from the plurality of requests sent by the computing devices in different geographical locations. The result of the comparison indicates whether the digital certificate is trustworthy.

  • Patent number: 9860337
Abstract: Features are disclosed for enabling users to discover content with different opinions or sentiments regarding particular topics. In some embodiments, users may request content expressing an opinion regarding a topic that is contrary or otherwise different than the opinion expressed in a currently viewed or selected content item. A service or system can identify content items related to the same topic, analyze sentiments expressed regarding the topic, and provide the user with a listing or other data regarding content with differing opinions. In some embodiments, the service or system may proactively search for and classify content as expressing particular opinions about particular topics in the absence of a request from a user. In some embodiments, the service or system may proactively provide users with data regarding the availability of content items with contrary opinions.

  • Patent number: 9692702
Abstract: Techniques and solutions are described for throttling automated polling requests. For example, an automated polling request that is generated by a web page can be received and a decision can be made to throttle, or not throttle, the automated polling request. The decision can be made based on comparison of the automated polling request with previous automated polling requests (e.g., during a throttling time period). For example, repetitive automated polling requests that occur during a throttling time period can be throttled.

  • Patent number: 9447740
Abstract: A fuel injector is disclosed for use in an engine system. The fuel injector may have a body defining a gas inlet, an oil inlet, and an oil outlet. The fuel injector may also have a nozzle connected to the body and having a base end in fluid communication with the gas inlet, and an injection tip located opposite the base end. The fuel injector may also have a valve check disposed in the nozzle and movable to selectively block and unblock the injection tip of the nozzle, and a plunger disposed in the body between the oil inlet and the oil outlet. The plunger may be movable between a flow-passing position and a flow-blocking position to cause movement of the valve check through the injection tip. The injector may further have a solenoid actuator configured to selectively move the plunger.
