    Abstract: A computer-implemented method for verifying a financial transaction conducted over a payment network. One step of the method includes obtaining comparative biometric data and comparative metadata from a payment device associated with a payment account. An additional step includes comparing the comparative biometric data with historical biometric data associated with a payment account and comparing the comparative metadata with historical metadata associated with the payment account. A further step includes authorizing the financial transaction if: (i) the comparative biometric data matches the historical biometric data and (ii) the comparative metadata corresponds to the historical metadata.
