Abstract: A barge lid lifter system having a frame, a plurality of vertical beams adjustably mounted to the frame, a plurality of cross bracing beams, and a plurality of load engagement mechanisms mounted to the vertical beams. Each load engagement mechanism may include a frame including a dagger plate, and a linear actuator configured to position an arm is configured an arm over a dagger point to retain a lifting assembly of a barge lid. The brackets of the vertical beams are configured to mount onto plates disposed on the frame such that the position of the load engagement mechanisms can be adjusted to fit barge lids of varying lengths and widths.
