Abstract: Various embodiments of an assisted communication system are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, an assisted communication system includes a computer, display, camera, microphone, network connection, and a controller connected to the computer, the camera, the microphone, and the network connection. The controller is adapted to receive commands over the network connection to initiate video conferences on the computer using the camera and the microphone. The controller is also adapted to receive commands over the network connection to select and initiate entertainment programming such as television programs, movies and music on the display.
