Abstract: The present invention relates to a locking ratchet strap that prevents theft and unintentional cargo loss. The device has a first strap and a second strap that attach to a ratchet mechanism which allows the straps to tighten. Each strap is made from a cut-resistant material. A release catch of the ratcheting mechanism is comprised of a lock that prevents the mechanism from becoming loose or operated by an unauthorized user (i.e., a thief). Each strap may be comprised of a hook having a lock member that can be manipulated from within each hook to form each hook into a continuous loop. The lock member can then be locked into this position via a lock. This prevents the hooks from becoming unsecured from an anchor point during transport.
