  • Patent number: 7922730
Abstract: In accordance with a particular embodiment of the present invention, an implantation tool includes an elongate inner shaft having first and second ends. The tool also includes a first post coupled to the elongate inner shaft proximate the first end of the elongate inner shaft. The first post is configured to engage with a component to couple the component with the elongate inner shaft. The tool further includes a hollow outer shaft defining a longitudinal axial bore within which the elongate inner shaft is disposed. The hollow outer shaft is able to slide along the elongate inner shaft from a first longitudinal position to a second longitudinal position. The hollow outer shaft includes a first locking arm. Moving the hollow outer shaft from the first longitudinal position to the second longitudinal position moves the locking arm closer to the first post.

  • Patent number: 7441480
Abstract: In accordance with one embodiment of the present invention, a driver may include an electric motor coupled to a bit interface. The bit interface may include a generally cylindrical body having first and second hollow portions. The first hollow portion may be on one end of the generally cylindrical body and may define a generally cylindrical hole. The second hollow portion may abut the first hollow portion and define an oblong channel. The oblong channel may be further defined by first and second parallel flat walls. The cylindrical body may also include a first transverse groove.

  • Patent number: 6808274
Abstract: There is disclosed a method and apparatus for deploying a mirror assembly from a recessed position that includes rotating the mirror assembly in a first direction about a first axis, the mirror assembly coupled proximate the first axis to at least one lifting arm and rotating each lifting arm in a second direction about a second axis such that the mirror assembly moves to an operational position. The first direction may be opposite from the second direction.

  • Patent number: 6731435
Abstract: A vehicle (10) has a camera (12) generating infrared images of a scene ahead, and a display (16) which reflects images from the vehicle windshield (17). Images from the camera are displayed at night, and operational information about the vehicle is displayed during the day. The display includes a mirror (41) with day and night reflective surfaces (162, 163) that have different optical characteristics and are arranged at an angle. The mirror is pivoted to transition the display unit between modes. In an alternative display (216), radiation from the two-sided mirror travels directly to a driver, without reflection from a windshield.

  • Patent number: 5437635
Abstract: A flow limiter mechanism for use with an infusion pump of the type operating upon a disposable cassette held by the infusion pump and having a flow tube connected to the cassette. The flow limiter includes a receiving channel located on the infusion pump adjacent to the disposable cassette held by the infusion pump. A tube pincher is operatively associated with the receiving channel to pinch the flow tube in a clamped position and mechanically retractable to an unclamped position to allow the flow tube to open. Electrical controls are connected for selectably operating the tube pincher from the clamped closed position to the unclamped opened position while the disposable cassette is held by the infusion pump. A flow clip is attached to the flow tube and is manually operable between opened and closed clipping positions prior to inserting the disposable cassette into the infusion pump.

  • Patent number: 5252044
Abstract: An ambulatory parenteral fluid infusion pump employs a disposable in-line cassette which provides three independent fluid paths between two flexible plastic sheets. The fluid path extends through a pump chamber having a piston plate secured to the flexible sheet at each pumping chamber. The sealed flexible sheets are housed in a rigid housing which provides an aperture through which a catch member formed on the piston plate extends, and having living hinges overlying the inlet and outlet paths for shutting off those paths. An outlet valve is normally closed, and operates in response to buildup of fluid pressure from advancement of the piston plate into the pump chamber to deliver fluid.
