Abstract: A retractable screen system includes a screen that is movable, via rotational movement of a motor to raise and lower the screen in a vertical manner. The screen can start at the motor and retract downward. To aid in the controlled movement of the screen, a track system includes an outer rail housing an inner channel. The inner channel includes a channel for receiving a portion of the screen, such as a keder. The keder channel controls the movement of the keder and screen. At times, the outer rail or inner channel may not be oriented as desired, and therefore, the inner channel includes the ability to float or move in a direction transversely to the direction of movement of the screen. Plastic clips can urge the inner channel to a position but can be manipulated to allow for some float of the inner channel.

Abstract: A retractable fabric screen system includes a screen material; a retention pin extending from the screen material; a bottom bar adjustably coupled to an end of the screen material; and an angle bracket fastened to an end of the bar. The screen material retracts or extends in a first direction. The retention pin extends in a second direction next to the screen corner. The bottom bar has a bar body with a length extending along a third direction. The angle bracket has an elongated hole that extends along the first direction. The retention pin slides within the elongated hole. The screen system maintains equal tension at the corners of the fabric as well as along the width of the retractable screen.

Abstract: Example embodiments of the described technology provide an exhaust hood for removing effluent plumes produced by cooking activity. The exhaust hood may comprise an exhaust fan operable to create a region of negative pressure beneath the exhaust hood for drawing air entraining the effluent plumes into the exhaust hood. The exhaust hood may also comprise one or more plenum chambers in fluid communication with the exhaust fan. The exhaust hood may also comprise one or more orifices in fluid communication with the one or more plenum chambers, the orifices located along a front edge of the exhaust hood. The exhaust hood may also comprise a filter for cleaning the air drawn into the exhaust hood such that air entraining the effluent plumes drawn into the exhaust hood by the exhaust fan is drawn through the filter to yield cleaned air. The exhaust hood may deliver at least a portion of the cleaned air into the one or more plenum chambers.
